Viva Pinata & Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Alpha Protocol and The Saboteur are some quick ones.
What´s your favorite underappreciated game?
I'll just say it right now: underappreciated is not underrated. Fable III is underrated; Fragile Dreams is underappreciated. (If you accuse me of going off topic, keep in mind that either game answers your question :P.)

You´re right both are not the same I just couldn´t find a better word to define underappreciated thats why I said "underrated" , I cannot say anything about the games you mentioned there because I have not play them, but I bet someone could argue about Fable III state with you.

Man, F the haters! I LOVED Star Wars Bounty Hunter! Can't really give you an in-depth explanation, it was just awesome! Lol.
I remember it being strangely fun despite being a horrible mess. Prey 2 looks like it could be the fulfillment of SW: Bounty Hunter's promise.
Star Wars: Obi Wan for the Xbox, loved that game.

Fable 2 is underrated, Fable 3 deserves to be forgotten.
Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) for Wii. Totally became engrossed by the progression and gameplay. There is still totally something awesome about having to fight a monster for 30 minutes just to make one mistake and die.

You're confusing games. I'm guessing you didn't like Fable III because you tried to play the game like a capitalist. Free market philosophies get you nowhere!
Urban Chaos: Riot Response was awesome and came from the guys that later went on to make the new Batman games.

Tomba!
An original blend of excellent platforming, adventure game puzzle-solving and amazing artstyle, this unique game is just FUN through and through!
I WANT MOAR!
ahhh tomba is fucking awsome i played that game way to much back when i had a ps1
mine would properly be dynasty warriors and especially the gundam version of DW.
i know that the story sux, the characters are over-the-top annoying, pretty much every lvl is the same and the control are stale. the fun of the game is playing it with a friend and just having fun with it

Yes! I did a post about unlikely games to get a sequel and that one was the first that came to my mind , I think Rocksteady did a little nod to the burners in the scream the bad guys make when you hang them from a gargoyle in Arkham Asylum at least that´s what I tell to myselft in hopes of seeing a new Urban Chaos.

Nier, by far.
I bought that thinking I could rummage an amazing story out of shit game design and bland locales. I was COMPLETELY wrong. I actually inferred something about the ending that made it a whole lot cooler (forgot it now, but AT THE TIME!) and they just vierred to the left and said nope its normal. Total let down of a game at least for me. The alternate endings seemed cool though.
As for my underappreciated game, well I cannot really think of one. Maybe Odin's Sphere or Majora's Mask? I realize people love those games but I view Majora's Mask as the best in the series.
Oh no, I know now. The game would definitely be Shadowrun. I got so many hours out of the 5 bucks I paid for it, it was criminal.
Eternal Ring. Despite it being relatively linear and yet kind of crazy confusing, I love this game. This and Final Fantasy X comprised a ton of my early PS2 memories.
The Legend of Dragoon. People call this game derivative and kind of boring, but fuck that. I still love playing this game, it has some of the best characters in the PS1 era of RPGs.
Devil May Cry 2. You know what, say what you will but this game is so batshit insane that I can't help but love it. Besides, people complaining about emo Dante have no idea what they're talking about, his character in DMC1 was essentially the same. He's a one-liner in guy-liner, and that's how he was in DMC1 yet people never complain about that Dante. Also you fight a goddamned building that fires Hyper Beams in that game. It also has a slight customization mechanic, pretty legit.
This is a tough one because appreciation could be sales, or a metacritic score, or just hindsight. My pics would be Secret of Evermore and The Suffering.
Evermore is a game that seems to really polarize people but the majority seem to lean toward absolute revulsion of it. It wasn't perfect by any means - glitchy, painfully bad puns/jokes, no co-op, alchemy system was just ok - but I feel like the programmers really put a lot of love into it. I liked the 'lived in' quality of most of the cities. It was one of the first games where I felt truly engrossed. I also liked the companion aspect, specifically using the dog to find valuables was really fun and unique way of engaging in a game.
As for The Suffering... I don't know. Maybe that's not under appreciated, they did make a sequel after all. I just feel like it was way better than average. Great atmosphere, decent weapon variance, genuinely creepy. Fun stuff.

Fable 3 makes me angry.
So much was wrong with it and it was just a bad rip-off of DA:O.
Fable 2 is the underrated one, glitches aside they improved on the game in every way and kept it faithful to the original story.
3 was just insulting.
@Mike76x:
Here's the problem: you're referencing games I've never played. Speak only in terms of the games themselves (IE Fable 2 is all about Fable 2; Fable 3, the same).

Agreed, favorite PS1 RPG.
I think Ghost Trick got an appropriate amount of critical praise, but the general game-playing public did not embrace it. The combination of a unique gameplay mechanic, great animation, and an enjoyable story were undermined by a weird release date (January 11, 2011) and a general lack of fanfare on Capcom's part. I would highly encourage DS and 3DS owners to check out the game.

The rhythm based combat was wicked addicting, haven't found anything else quite like it.
my guilty pleasure of recent times would be gun. I thought it was pretty awesome when I first got my 360 in 2007! Thank god Red Dead Redepmtion saved me and set me straight.
It will never get as much appreciation as it deserves, ever
