Whatever happened to the white background.

I was wondering the same thing not too long ago. Maybe there were some technical or readability issues going on or something. I hope it's in the plans to make a come back. I thought either Brad or Vinny strongly disliked the black backgrounds. I wonder how they are takin it.   : )

It was basically unusable after one of the major updates to the site's code, so it needs to be done over again when there's time.

Who needs a background other than this E3 one? No one. That's who.

I like the black look of Giant Bomb. Sites like GameFAQs and Comic Vine have become too bright for me. When I think of a giant bomb, I think of dark destruction with humor thrown in. The destruction is the black, and the humor is the red and yellow combo.

PM or twitter Dave about it. He is the designer. He did say something about having multiple designs for all 3 whiskey sites. So if he's working on all of them to get them released at the same time, that could be taking a while. Although he might just have forgotten. So ask him.

Bit of a necro bump, but is there any more information about this yet?  I've recently started using this site a lot more, but find it very hard to look at it for any decent amount of time or read anything with a large amount of text.  Yeah, you can complain about my eyes if you want, but it's literally impossible for me to read reviews, etc on here.

White background is needed badly. All the white-on-black is killing my eyes.

Dave showed off a screenshot of a white background on Twitter a month or two ago.  Then I just kind of never heard anything about it again.

I can't stand white backgrounds. It's like staring into a lightbulb.
 
White-on-black is the way to go.
