My vote has to go to one of my all time favourite games Omikron: The Nomad Soul by Heavy Rain developers Quantic Dream. How 'bout you?
Which games should get an hd remake?
Omikron was one of the most confusing demos I ever played on the PC back in the day, never actually checked out the game though.
Not a lot of older stuff I would spill cash for these days, but I would probably drop serious cash for HD remakes of:
- Descent I, II, and III
- Homeworld 1 and 2
- Total Annihilation
Landmark PC games which could probably go over pretty well with a lot of modern audiences I'd say, especially Descent what with the great shooter revival going on.

Original Half-life maybe? Or has that been done already?
@Th3_James: well sort of. They brought the game into the source engine, but all the models are the same. The only real difference are physics and water. Theres black mesa source , but thats been in the works for a llllooonnnggg time and they rarely update so its really hard to tell if its a dead project or not.
How are people listing games under 10 years old? Max Payne 2... really? If you can open the game and turn on FSAA, Anisotropic and select 1920x1080 for resolution from the menu then it doesn't need an HD remake yet. We need to think a little further back to games that think 640x480 is an insane resolution and 2D sprite objects creepily stalk you as you move around the room.

Freespace 2. Oh wait.
Seriously, Baldur's Gate 1/2/Planescape. Real time backgrounds instead of pre-rendered. New player and NPC models based on the old ones.
And Drakan 2. Never got horribly far in it because it only came out for the PS2.
The reason why Bg1/2 and Planescape looked as good as they did is because they where prerenderd, if they where 3d it wouldn't be any different then playing DA origins. and DA origins looked like ass.
I'd want to see HD remakes of games that never left Japan, simply because it would mean we'd get a chance to see a non-Japanese release, maybe.

The first two Max Payne games and put it in one package. I'm going through them again, and that's one of the things I kept thinking last night.
I was sure I was going to be the first to mention this, but at least two other people have already done so! With the new game coming out this coming spring, it would seem like an obvious thing to release an HD collection for both PC and consoles (with actual widescreen being the most needed feature in the PC versions). Max Payne games have always played very well on both PC and consoles, so it seems like the rare example where everybody wins.
I would also second the suggestion of the Descent series. There still isn't anything else like those games in the current market. Sure, space-sims are a hard sell these days, but Descent is close enough in design and gameplay to appeal to a regular first-person shooter audience. Why this hasn't happened yet is baffling. If Interplay wants to make some money off its remaining IPs, Descent is the place to start.
None. Charging $40+ for uprezzed textures is fucked.
Unless we're talking new models, I'm not buying.
