With Double Fine getting over 3 million and Wasteland 2 inevitably meeting it's goal, kickstarter seems to be a viable way for classic games and big names to make their dream game.

So the question is simple, who would you want to see do a kickstarter and what genre/sequel would you want them to do?

Here, here.
I'd pay for a Dark Forces/Jedi Knight project.  New game in the series, remake of a previous one, just about anything.  Need me more Kyle Katarn.

Also, a Grim Fandango Special Edition ala Monkey Island and Super Metroid HD.

After those recent Obsidian lay offs and given how much Chris Avellone has been talking about it I'd love for them to give it a go. It'd be the first Kickstarter I would pledge to.

DICE doing a spiritual successor to Battlefield 2, Remedy doing a spiritual successor to Max Payne 1&2, Crytek doing a spiritual successor to Crysis. I would pay 60$ for each.
All are games/franchises that were disfigured because of the mother fucking publishers... Kickstarter would be the dream tool for this.

If we're talking old genres revived, well, I'm not sure. I was a mainstream gamer for the better half of my gaming life (1996-2005), so I'm eager for anything that is old-school and challenging.

Would be a great idea. I've always been bummed they dropped the world tour idea. I'd love to be able to see a Bombcast live.

Other than that, Alpha Protocol 2. Loved every minute of that game and have always been disappointed it will most likely never get a sequel. I understand a game like that is too expensive for a kickstarter campaign, but I'd be psyched with a downloadable sequel, like Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

I can understand Battlefield 3, being a Call Of Duty unlockathon and Crysis 0.5 console edition.

But whats wrong with Max Payne 3? Looks awsome to me.

A new Darkcloud game, although it's probably not a matter of funds...but a matter of the owner of that franchise needing to stop making shitty games instead.

The gameplay and graphics look great, yeah, but I really doubt it's gonna have the dialogue and bleak atmosphere a Max Payne game should have. Not to mention that the level design will probably be too straight-forward than the smart mind-fuck levels Remedy provided.

It just won't be a Max Payne game, I'm almost sure of it. It will be a terrific third person shooter, no doubt there.

Bethesda to make a dlc where the only thing they do is to hire more voice actors to record dialog for Skyrim so there is less repetition in that, but since everyones already played that they could do it for the next game that they release.

Who wouldn't kick in for that?

Bethesda is part of a wealthy corporation, if they wanted to spend more money on voice acting they could easily afford it.

@BlackLagoon: They could, but since it would never happen because that's not the kind of thing that add's to a games sales numbers they won't, however if they did a kickstarter for it and said pay 10 or 15 bucks and you'll get the dlc day 1 for their next game or as close to it as possible then it might actually be a possibility. And seeing as that really bothered me during the time I have played Skyrim I know I'd be down for it.

Also that just seems a bit like saying GM could give you a car if they wanted they're a big wealthy corporation. Or Apple could give you an iPad if they want to. And saying company x could do so and so... if they weren't so intent on making a profit sounds a little whiny and naive to me. Not trying to be insulting. That's just the best way I can put it.

Yu Suzuki to make Shenmue III. I suppose it would be a lot like the Yakuza games, but I want to finish that story :(

I'd also like another side-scrolling Oddworld game.

I would definitely throw money at a Miz game; god knows he's not going to get any funding from publishers after Child of Eden bombed. I'm convinced more then ever, after Keiji Inafune's call-to-arms, that there are more Japanese auteur geniuses than Western ones, but no one is giving them any money. How Suda 51 keeps getting to make games is beyond me, but god bless him.

Also, I'd really like to see Keita Takahashi get another game out there, and Kickstarter would be a great way for that to happen. Dude's got a lot of fans out there...

You really don't think Rockstar are capable of crafting a compelling noir crime drama? That's like their fucking wheelhouse man. Even the Remedy guys said they're really impressed with what Rockstar have been doing.

The idea of a game completely crowd sourced from donators would be an amazing clusterfuck of a game to see be made =)

Blizzard - Diablo 3... I would really love to see the Rogue class make a comeback and I think for $10-20 million we could make it happen.
EA/DICE - Battlefield DLC that fixes jets, lol. Should be maybe $5 million??
Blizzard - Titan: RELEASE IT ALREADY lol. There are sooo many people that play WoW, if they each kick in $10 then we will definitely see Titan before too long.
Treyarch: Call of Duty sequel but split in ww2/contemporary... like, you play Soap's grandfather in WWII and then you play as Soap in a contemporary conflict zone but with flashbakcs and possibly being visited by his grandfather's ghost. this has to be AAA, like $40 million, but this way we can take games development back from BOBBY KOTICK lol
