Nintendo reached it's last straw at E3. Well, It really didn't for me (I hated them before that). But for a lot of people it had. I never had much hope for Nintendo to get it's acts together since I got the Xbox360 back in February.  Since then I now know what it means to play truely hardcore titles. But not only are they packed with story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics. (GTA IV, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Orange Box, all of which are not on Wii.)
But all of the titles on Xbox360 also have something called effort pack right in the box. Not that I am saying Nintendo doesn't put effort in there're gam-, oh, wait, they don't anymore, do they? Well, Once every four years, they put there focus away from money (Zelda, Metroid, Mario....and other 20 year old sequels) but that is once every four years, three if you are lucky. What I am saying is, Microsoft's system gets games every month (not every year) that have a good story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics, with also a bonus, playability, and even replayability.
The designs are thought out and are not simplified. Nintendo simplifies everything so they can get a wider audience, thus brings in much more money. But apparently Microsoft doesn't think like I do, because now they are trying to copy off of Nintendo, by SIMPLIFYING the dashboard, and getting the addition of Avatars (cough..Miis) I want Nintendo to stop trying to make everything for the casual gamers, and start cracking out different ideas, not sequels. Microsoft also better not begin down the Wii trajectory, because America has gotten milked of all it's money and attention from the mainstream.

well if you havent figured it out is that Nintendo has pretty much always been about casual gaming. From the Nes all the way to the Wii. Only DIfference is that your older now grandpa.  Thats why sony was so succesful with the ps one cuz they were targeting a growing public. So to expect Nintendo to all of a sudden change what they have been for years is naive.  As for microsoft they dont care about pleasing Hardcore gamersa they follow the money. And they cant stand seeing Nintendo making all the moneyz lately now that gaming is getting to be more mainstream.

Nintendo doesn't care, they're making too much damn money :P

Which is sad, but I guess that's what a second console is for.

That they won't support the Mother/Earthbound franchise is big for me...kinda shows how they dont want to market or release the niche titles that hardcore gamers truly appreciate, very annoying and it's sad that the creator of those games never got the full backing of Nintendo.

I think Microsoft's E3 wasn't that casual, their press conference maybe. But let's face it, the casual gamer isn't pumped for fallout 3, fable 2 and gears 2. Rock Band 2 caters to the hardcore as well as the casual, so I tend to agree that nintendo is lame compared to Microsoft's awesome lineup.

Oh yeah, I know TONS of soccer moms and people who wouldn't normally pick up a controller that are going to to pre-order Gears 2 and Fallout 3 after Microsoft's super casual press conference.

Get a clue before you act like your opinion is worth a damn next time. Microsoft tried to cater to both audiences at their press conferences. Whether or not you like Gears 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, the Square Enix games (including Final Fantasy XIII), they're aren't games the 'casual' audience people talk about Nintendo having will play.

I hate when people say there is no good third party games for the wii, because even when there is no one buys the damn things (No more heroes, Zach and Wiki) Why should anyone bother making games for the wii, when only their main franchises sell.

Excuse me..

Which company owns the best game of this generation ?

The wii

If you wondering which game im talking about, look below.

SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL

Plus
The wii is absolutely amazing.
Its diifirent than the xbox360 and PS3.
The Wii is unique and not common like PS3 and 360 with a consent battle with each other.

You oviosly only play games that are with Blood,Guns,War ect ect.
The wii is much more fun the 360 and PS3

With the Wii you get FAMILY FUN

Xbox & Playstation is for people who have not life and are on it consently. Not socialising with the other family members.

And i do own a 360 myself but i dont play it much. The only game i play on it is Guitar Hero.

So Nintendo will not die, It produces fantastic games such as Super mario Galaxy, Super mash bros brawl.

Proven and Just whipped you ass :)

Its quite simply put Wii is the top selling console of the generation so far, it may not have the best third party support but what it lacks it makes up for with Nintendo developed games, eg. Zelda, Mario etc. It wont be long before all these third party developers come crawling to the king that is Nintendo and its top general the Wii.

No, your garbage system specs and ass backwards online system and lack of anything resembling an audience for anything other than Wii Sports says otherwise.

The fact is its not just Wii sports that sells copies there are other games, eg galaxy, TP these games alone have sold countless copies and Wii system's. So before u come out all tough like you thnk you know everything maybe you should do some research.

Mario Galaxy is one game. I don't even know what TP stands for, and I don't really care. You have at best a few first party games that sold (even though sold doesn't mean anything, an utter piece of garbage can sell and leave the customer unhappy and angry at the Wii) to compare to Playstation 3 and 360's large list of games. I'm not a fanboy and I don't praise everything Microsoft/Sony does. I own a DS, and play it almost as much or more than any of my consoles a lot of the time (Final Fantasy Tactics A2 at the moment). However, only an idiot would come out and say that the Wii is going to dominate and everything will be made for it or Nintendo. Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, Resistance, Killzone 2. This is a small list of games out or coming out that I came up with on the spot that will or have sold well, and are for the most part critically acclaimed. Not one of these could be ported over to the Wii without major cuts to the game. Wii may be the future of casual family gaming, but by no means can you intelligently say that IS the future of gaming.

you are still just talking about Nintendo characters that everyone and their mum already knows about.  the risk is introducing new franchises and new characters that people who buy games simply by looking at the cover or what they see advertised just wont bother with.

Im not argueing your point thats because your right but So what, they arent taking any risks and look at the sales and profit they make of every console, look at the other two they loose money on every console plus they rely on game sales to boost there system base so more games sell and they start to make a profit. Dont get me wrong PS3 have pulled it of with MGS4 and there on the way to hopefully fullfiling there goals but 360 cmon it's dieing and theres nothing they can do about it.

Sorry i didnt read your Post, if im gonna sum it up Nintendo is the future for casual gaming your right, but you cant say it wont have some percentage of the core gamers because it will. All three systems will be grabing a chunk of the pie and yes nintendo will have the smallest percantage but you cant just rule them out.

I didn't say they won't have a percentage of the core gamers. They will have a very small percentage that goes back for the Zeldas, Marios, stuff like that. But they will never have anything NEAR the Playstation 3 and 360 (which is nowhere near dying) will have. Your original statement was that it would conquer all of it, which is nowhere near accurate.

The Wii has a lot of good games, just a lot of there games are casual games. If those games don't appeal to you why do you have to complain about it?

You hated a corporation? Because they market a product that you don't like? Granted, the majority of game forum users are not going to be casual gamers, and thus not be one of Nintendo's target demographic but still; hating an entire corporation because of smart business? I won't disagree with their press conference, WiiMusic was depressing, WiiMotion Plus will split their consumer base and Animal Crossing's announcement was lackluster at best but why would anybody hate them for it. The existance of the Wii and its' casual gamers don't impact on your hardcore gaming lifestyle, you have hated them before this year's E3 so clearly they are not affecting your gaming experience, so how about enjoying the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 with some PC gaming on the side and let the Wii do its' casual business.

I hate this argument. Hey everybody, don't bother expressing your opinion on something, just neglect it. Nobody wants a casual debate on anything because in the real world the only people that talk about games are the people that love them. Don't like a music video on YouTube? Don't bother explaining why you don't like it or how it doesn't fit the music. Just don't watch it! That way you're shielding yourself from all that pain and anguish that comes from watching something you're not completely happy with. Don't agree with the views on a facebook group? Want to prove that the thousands of people that joined that group are small-minded pompous bigots with heads filled with fertiliser? No way man! Just DON'T JOIN THE GROUP! That way, everyone's a winner.

How about I will play them, then I'll chuck them, then I'll talk about what I don't like about them and why, and then somebody else can counter what I've said with why they like the game. How about that?

Did I over-react?

Let's keep this discussion friendly folks, and try to keep the peace on Giant Bomb.

But moving on, I'm frustrated with Nintendo on the Wii front. While I still like my DS (FFIV anyone?) I played every worthwhile game on the Wii, and now don't have much I can do with it. The problem with E3 was that Nintendo practically assured me that I won't be having anything worth playing on it for some time. I am probably going to get rid of the console and pre-order the fall lineup for the other two consoles.

Nintendo's E3 was terrible. What else is new? Let's move on with our lives.

I'm stuck on assassin # 2 in No More Heroes. I got bigger fish to fry!

I agree Microsoft had the best E3 which still wasn't anything special. They showed gameplay of games we already knew were coming out. No big announcements or anything. And that basically sums up everyone's E3. This year was dissapointing but still cool.

The fact is at those Press Conferences, they are still hardcore game press, interested in hearing something good. Yeah overall nintendo, sony and microsoft all failed to deliver any amazing news no one had heard of,but nintendo's presentation for this whole casual market of course hit the bottom of the bucket with everyone there, because thats not what they expect. They wan tto hear when the next Mario or Zelda is coming out,or a new original idea.

As far as all the conferences go Sony definately won in terms of most new games shown and a sneak peak of some upcoming titles in 09+.(especially since I don't give a shit about final fantasy to begin with, and with square making 360 games already,I don't see how it was a surprise)

I definately agree for the most part about your message though, the core X360 owners are hardcore, and don't want fucking mii's greeting them at the startup screen. Hopefully they get such a bad reception for this shit, that maybe it'll be removed(though I doubt it)
