What is the worst boss battle you have ever played?
Worst Boss Battle
Gears 2... Hold down the right trigger for about 30 seconds .
Or the bit at the end of Sonic Unleashed.... never beaten it... never care to do so.
Damn this is a tough one, so many to chose from. I'm going to have to go with Oblivion's last boss, not the one you don't even fight, but the one before. I bought a really expensive staff, and was able to kill him in two hits, before he even touched me. I have probably played some worse, but I was trying to pick one from a game that was pretty good.
Completely my fault, but the worst one for me, was in Batman: Arkham Asylum. The one where there's 3 elevators, and you're fighting a titan henchman plus the seemingly never-ending stream of henchmen out of the elevators. I must have tried that one at least 50 times. The two reasons why it was my fault: this was before I found out that you can't just pound on the attack/counter buttons, you have to time them, and the second reason was that I was playing on insane difficulty.
The final boss of Ninja Gaiden was pretty lame. Especially after how epic the two bosses before it were.
Also most modern FPS games have shitty final bosses: FEAR, Half-Life 2, Doom 3 (would have been cool if not for the fucking Soul Cube), Fallout 3, etc.
There are so many bad ones but the most disappointing to me was the gears 2 ending, I guess they were going for epicness but it should have been better.

i share your pain i tried that at least 100 times on insane. it was so satisfying to beat though.
That chick in Ninja Gaiden on original xbox, the blue one that crashes through the church. OMFG took me like a whole year before I beat her, playing on and off. I should have gotten ninja gaiden black, it had an easier difficulty. Right after that boss battle I beat the game in like 4 hours.
The end of Condemned 2 was pretty weak. Also wasn't really crazy about the final boss in Deadly Premonition.
A lot of those boss fights might indeed suck, but at least most of them were functional. If you've ever played Cheetahmen II to completion, you learn to put these sorts of things in very, very relative terms.
Jump to around 9:25 and watch until the end to see what I mean. Seriously.

@birdflu777: The whole game in general is just filled with inadvertent paradoxes abound like that. It's morbidly interesting like that. It's the train wreck that never really could, but still tried anyway.
" @tdk08: Lucky for us all, it never actually got released officially, although cartridges and boxes do show up from time to time. Aside from that, it's also ironically famous for its music. Go to YouTube or a Japanese video site like NicoNico and you'll find a staggering amount of remixes that probably shouldn't exist. But I agree, it's among the absolute worst games I've had the displeasure of playing too much.I was going to say, the music is bad ass

I was just thinking of this one shitty boss fight but I forgot it damn it...
one that does come to mind is the 4 fiends from FF I took all 4 of them down in 2 hits from my knights
Flat out worst (not talking about hardest/easiest/lamest, but flat out worst implemented)
Stupid flamethrower guy in Afro Samurai. Worst fucking boss i've ever seen in my entire life, horrendously stupid attack patterns, ridiculous hit boxes, WORST flame animation EVER MADE. Ruined the whole fucking game which, otherwise I thought was a'ight. Enjoyed it.
I'm sure there are better examples but the first one to come to mind is Jubelius The Creator in Bayonetta. The game was a pretty fun romp until this cheap-ass final boss slammed the breaks on the fun.

The final boss in DP was awesome.
Worst boss battle for me, though, was Nyx from Persona 3. Not because it was badly set-up, it was damn epic... but it was also so fucking frustrating
" The end of Condemned 2 was pretty weak. "Except for the fact that I don't like the whole Indigo Prophecy'ish turn the plot took, I found the final boss to be somewhat entertaining actually.
My worst boss battles? I can't remember them all, but off the top of my head I'll mention the clone battle at the end of God of War. Fuck, I hate games where your objective is to protect someone ELSE than yourself. That, and I kept falling to my death. Felt like cheap deaths for sure.
Oh, and the final 'boss fight' or whatever in Mercenaries 2 is horrible. Especially the sound effect when you shoot your gun is ghastly. Jesus F Christ, it's amazing to think it's the same people who made The Saboteur.
And, going further back, I really hated the final battle with Gruntilda in Banjo-Kazooie. It was extremely hard, and I always lost. I ended up turning the console off, leaving the game for 10 years and then returning to finally beat her last year. God damn.
