Book or Movie that complimented a game. Something that helped fill in story and background. For me it definately would have to be the Halo books. They really give you a better appreciation for the Halo Universe and history of the spartans and the War.

I haven't read any video game spin-off books in a long time, and probably only a couple of them as a kid. As for movies, I think I gotta give it up to Mortal Kombat. It was a good movie.
The Warriors, to me, will never be the same since I played the game. They really compliment each other just masterfully.
Any of the forgotten realms books, or Escape From New York, while not directly tied to MGS it was the inspiration for the character Snake, and it's an awesome movie everyone should see.
" I haven't read any video game spin-off books in a long time, and probably only a couple of them as a kid. As for movies, I think I gotta give it up to Mortal Kombat. It was a good movie. "Same here. Awesome movie.
The Mass Effect books really flesh out the universe well, And The Warriors game goes hand and hand with the movie for me now, all movie games should look to that for inspiration
" Lord of the Rings, for all those LOTR games. Is that cheating? "If it's not cheating that's my answer too. But I do think this is almost not fair. There's no denying that Lord of the Rings definitely filled in every single backstory to -any- game set in Middle Earth though.
