Wow a lot of positive feedback about the game here. Surprising considering that most of the time when a game is developed to draw off of another competitive games' in its own way they end up getting chewed out by most of the original games' fanbase. Will have to give this a go! Can i still request into the alpha/beta (whatever stage theyre in)?
I've dabbled in all of the popular MOBAs, and enjoyed them but ultimately found them too stressful for regular play. HOTS, on the other hand, is super addicting to me. I literally started playing for the first time today, and racked up 20 matches (like 5 hours) without realizing I'd hit 4am. The variety of secondary objectives on the different maps keep every round feeling fresh.
And I think this game won't really attract the hardcore MOBA fans. Like the podcast email mentioned, it's way less mechanically complex. It's a MOBA for the rest of us. That's not necessarily a bad thing for them, since I'm guessing traditional MOBAs are approaching peak saturation of the "hardcore" market. If this serves as a more manageable on-ramp for those games, that's good for them as well.
One last thing: I've been maining Raynor the Starcraft gunner and he's the best character I've played in any MOBA. He can be built into a defensive powerhouse or a crazy-high DPSer with a few key skill choices. I bought the Starter Kit bundle for $4.99 just to get him after using him for the Tutorial and don't regret it. If he's indicative of the talent trees of the other characters, I think I'll be playing a lot of this game.
Just downloading now, podcast pushed me into giving it a go. Played a bunch of original dota, some hon and some dota 2. The time commitment on those games are just too much for me now though, hoping this will fill a sweetspot.
Have a 87 hours of dota 2 and 100+ on lol ,have played smite and some couple other moba games like Dawngate,TOME etc so I know how to play these kind of game if that matters.I play HotS in a more relaxed way than I did with the other games.
I just wanna play with some non-randoms, QMs and co-ops :)
I have played an itty bitty amount of Dota 2 and LoL, enough to know that I would like to play some moba, but not these mobas, if you know what I mean. Played about 30 games in Hots, mostly co-op. Really like it. Mostly play late night Europe time.
Finally getting into a good rhythm after picking this up a couple weeks ago (yes, because of the Drew video), seem to have settled on Sonya, Tyrande and Sgt. Hammer as my semi-mains... which makes the pub QM queue a living hell for me.
Hello are you guys still active? Just got into the game last week, and it's a lot more fun than what I remember trying to dive into DOTA2 with no experience! Haha, instead of focusing on getting the last hit, I can focus more on map awareness, objectives and teamwork. So this is my first moba i'm really digging into, and its a lot of fun. Would be more fun with friendly peeps to party with xD.
Let's get that friend bonus. I have some moderate LoL experience, but this game is so different I'm having a hard time really getting in the right mindset, strategically.
I know, it's a stupid name. But live in Ireland, played 40/50 games of Dota didn't have much time for it, liking Hero's. Mainly play in the mourning GMT zone. So add away :)

I've been enjoying my time so far. HotS is the first moba I've really gotten into so I've mostly been doing vs AI to learn the maps/strategy, but had fairly good success in the handful of quick matches I've done with a friend or two and randoms. So.. hopefully I'm getting decent at the game? lol... As always seems way more fun to play with people who are cool so feel free to add me :)
Used to be very much into the original Dota, i then went on to HoN.. Played about 100hrs of Dota 2 then gave up on Mobas due to their toxic community and lack of online friends (due to a break from online gaming)
I'd totally be up for some social gaming with a bunch of ya'll! feel free to add me!
