Me and my girls went out for a drink or two, or more accurately 8 with a few shots, best cures for a hangover internet?
Best cure for a hangover.
I heard an old fairytale about how eating before you go out to get drunk prevents a hangover
So that's what I've been doing and the last time I was hung over I was 14 or 15. Most boring first day of the new year, ever
Coconut water: Ryan Davis recommended, User approved!
Seriously, it works wonders. Also, the chocolate version (as pictured above) is the best)
Water all the way, helps rehydrate the body and most importantly the brain which helps if you have an headache.
@Hizang: I hate coconut too. I also avoid regular coconut water.
This stuff tastes like thin chocolate milk. They've got it at Walgreens and Trader Joes. Just sayin'
@Claude: These bloody kids these days, eh, EH, EEHHHHH!?!?!?
All we had in my day was Victory Gin and getting shot in the back of the head.
@Hizang: Ever heard of a Prairie Oyster? I tried it once after a really long night of drinking. It worked for me but, holy shit I never want to try that again. Only in the most dire of hangovers would I entertain the notion of drinking that again. Thanks Cowboy Bebop!
Drink a load of water before you go to sleep, I always force myself to down a pint of the stuff if I need to be up early the next morning, and make sure you sleep with some kind of fruit juice next to your bed. When you wake up at 5 or 6 am feeling dehydrated it's because your blood-sugar is low, so a few gulps of fruit juice will sort you out and should let you get back to sleep pretty quickly. When you wake up I'd recommend more fruit juice and always more water (a couple of pints at least).
A greasy fry-up is cool because the fat will soak up any traces of alcohol you might have in your system but it's not particularly healthy so I've been avoiding that recently. Another misconception is that forcing yourself to vomit is somehow productive here but I can confirm that is not the case - it might help you fall asleep, but will simply make you more dehydrated and you will probably end up feeling worse in the long-run.
Personally I like to wake up and watch a David Attenborough with a cup of tea. I find his voice very theraputic when hungover.

Good advice. I don't drink these days anymore, but back when I did, I usually followed similar recipe.
- Don't go to sleep if you're still "getting drunk" - i.e. you just had an alcoholic drink recently.
- Drink a bunch of water/orange juice and eat something before bed.
- When you wake up during the night/early morning, drink more and grab a few painkillers.
- Sleep until evening.
That usually does it. I often suffered from sensitive stomach during the day still, but usually only minor headache or none at all. And the best cure really is to delay going to bed as long as possible. Worst hangovers occur when you pass out or just go to bed in the midst of drinking.
Advice is a bit late now but I have tried several things and I find that a cold glass of water or a bottle of chilled water and go for a little walk outside, round the local park or something once and every 30 secs or so taking sips of water. The morning fresh air makes the feeling of being about to throw up get better and the water will attempt to hydrate you.
Also, if you gotta puke then puke because (especially if you've got as really bad hangover) then for the next 15 minutes you'll feel absolutely fine, in that time you chugg down loads of water and eat a load of toast or something before your start to feel sick again.

More alcohol - hair of the dog that bit you.
Odd as it sounds, there's some truth in these "cures".
Sleeping on orange juice can give you an ulcer.@Sweep said:

Since this is an after the fact hangover the best way is
Wake up. Remember what you did last night. Give up on that. Immediately slam a Gatorade. Wait 5 minutes. Take a shower. (The wait is important. Let it settle in. Read some news. See if anyone with your description is a headline). Brush your teeth. A lot of water.
The initial Gatorade is to spike your blood sugar. This allows you to start moving liquids in your body, both in and out, making room for some water after the shower.
Things not to do:
Don't take medicines(unless medically necessary). Your liver is at a weakened state and prone to being further damaged by the likes of Tylenol. Also the amount of liquids you are drinking could hinder some medicines.
Coffee will just make it so that you can further understand what your head is doing. Coffee only after the initial Gatorade.
Eating before hand would have worked better, so don't worry about that. Eat what you normally would with only slight bit more, your body is expending more energy now because...
Spend some time sweating. Maybe that shower is super hot. Of you sit on the bike for 10 mins. This is the only thing I've said I can't find proof for, but it helps to sweat it out.
Rumor: breathing through your mouth helps to rid the body of alcohol quicker because of more air flow out of the body. Not sure i buy that one though.
I don't get hangovers, so I can't really help. The only thing that happens to me the day after, is that I'm slightly dizzy for the first half hour, then a few hours with an uneasy stomach (which results in the smelliest bathroom visits ever, yuck) which is best cured with soda, chips and bananas. So just eat salty foods, bananas and hydrate, I guess.
This is going to sound like a lie but it's scientifically proven that bacon sandwiches are the best cure. http://bacontoday.com/scientists-proclaims-%E2%80%9Cbacon-sandwich%E2%80%9D-the-ultimate-hangover-cure/
