I play the drums, and the wood block.
They call me the human metronome.
Do you play an instrument?
" I took piano lessons as a kid but I've never been very good. Same thing with trombone. I'm decent at drums, can lay down basic beats with success but nothing crazy. I'm best at guitar. Been learning some brazilian samba and bossa nova finger picking type stuff recently, it's fun. "Ugh... Bossa Nova is my least favorite style to play on the drums. You would figure it'd be "harder" to play this and it actually is, but for some reason Bossa Nova drives me insane, yet it so simple compared to what I usually play... Weird.
Played the acoustic guitar since as long as I can remember. My dad taught me. I'm not really a fan of the electric guitar, though I have one and can play it; it's much easier than acoustic(takes less concentration, precision, and finger strength). I'm just not really interested in playing many songs with distortion(the beefy rock sound), and the acoustic sounds much better and fuller if you play an acoustic song. Every now and then I will pick up the electric and play it though.
- More wrist, I noticed you use your elbow allot, try focusing on your wrists, if you don't that could bring health problems later on.
- UNTIGHTEN THOSE CRASHES. Just do, they're quite tight and you may end up getting a crack starting from the center.
- Learn the difference between a side ride hit and a bell hit, from what I could see you were just hitting the side. It could be the camera angle though.
- Tighten your china and keyhole it. Drill a hole at the end of the crack if you can to stop it from spreading. Although you should just get a new cymbal.
- Use your splash more and bring it up a bit, you'll have easier access to it.
- Get around ear headphones AND earplugs, you'll go deaf if you don't.
I'm taking a Music University course next year, so I hope so...
Guitar, Vocals, Bass, Piano.
I can keep rhythm in Drums. I know nothing technical.
-- God Bless.
" @Food said:Yeah, it's the same on guitar. The rhythm is a lot different from anything you might encounter in rock so you kind of have to force yourself to learn it from scratch. I'm not really into the super jazzy bossa nova type stuff anyway. Most of what I listen to is focused on voice and guitar without much percussion or sax/piano." I've been playing guitar for over a year now and I'm pretty decent. My main instrument though is my voice - I sing in a band that plays anything from classic rock to metal to alternative. I'd love to post some videos but we've only done one gig so far and it kinda sucked =D the first one always sucks though lol
I plan on attempting bass again this summer.
I bought myself a bass and amp way back in 2007, and still don't know how to play that shit. I need to be far more dilligent.
