Do you use subtitles?
I watch a lot of foreign movies so I'm used to subtitles. Also I play a lot of games while listening to music (after I've beat them once).
I like to use it games. Sometimes I find it easier to read to keep up with the story when things are going crazy in the background.
" I use subtitles all the time in movies and games. I'm actually running through Metro 2033 in Russian with English subtitles.makes it so much better "I agree I always use subtitles cause sometimes there is so much background noise/music you can't hear what they're saying.
I do pretty often. Growing up, there would usually be a lot of interruptions when I'd be playing games, so I got used to using subtitles in case I couldn't hear what was said.
Most of the time yeah, makes it easier not to miss anything when characters are talking. Sometimes it can be hard to hear what characters are saying, or sometimes, like in Sam & Max, they just spit out a bunch of fast, humorous TALK at you that takes a bit longer for my non-english native brain to process, and the second that takes would be enough for me to miss whatever came immediately afterwards if there were no subtitles.
" i used to use em every single chance i could, but recently i`ve just been bothered having them there, it`s like, your paying attention to the subtitles instead of the movie or game, annoys the hell out of me "I don't know, I have them on all the time in movies, and in games sometimes. For movies, I forget I am even reading them. Games I find it distracting if I am playing a fps
Sometimes in games. Bioshock (PC) had their captions moving literally minutes ahead of the conversation at some points so I turned it off. And I get a kick out of spotting the discrepancies where, I assume, the actor decided to change it just a little bit and they never bothered to update the script.

" I see you're back to making polls. By the way, B. "did u miss them like i missed that thing u send me?
" i used to use em every single chance i could, but recently i`ve just been bothered having them there, it`s like, your paying attention to the subtitles instead of the movie or game, annoys the hell out of me "i always use them, i have a hearing issue
I always turn subtitles on for games. I don't know what it is about subtitles, I just can't play a game without them.
Every chance I get, in everything. I rarely actually need to use them, but I'm glad that they're there when that one important scene comes up and some jackass didn't think how loud those explosions or that epic music swell was going to be in comparison to whoever's talking at the time.
For how infrequently I need them, however, I get super pissed at anything that doesn't offer them or has incomplete/inaccurate subtitles.
i've been trying to cut down on subtitles because i usually focus on them more than the selected media at hand. i do, however, hate it when video games don't give me the option to enable subtitles.
Mostly for games if I can, not all voice actors speaks clearly and you want to know what they said. For movies, if I can't understand what they just said, I rewind it, use subtitles, then after seeing what they said, I turn it off again.
I have subtitles whenever I can. Lots of planes fly over my house and they're really and also there's alway a moment in a film when you don't quite catch a word.
Note: For films, I usually put 'subtitles for hard of hearing' because I love seeing, *MAN BANGS DRUM* and such like at the bottom of my screen.
