Does this woman have a valid reason for suing?
If you don't want to glance at the article I'll sum it up. Basically the husband called up Rogers, a cable company here in Canada, and asked if he could merge his cell phone bill with his wife's so just one bill would come in. Rogers agreed and the husband got the bill for the month. He noticed his wife making hour long calls to a certain number so he calls it. He calls and a guy answers and basically says I'm fucking your wife. The husband walks out due to the affair and now the wife who cheated wants to sue Rogers because they helped him discover the affair. So do you think she has valid reason for suing? Is this just another desperate person trying to get some cash even though the company did nothing wrong?
Legally, the company would probably need permission from both people before merging the bills. She's a cunt though and I hope she doesn't get anything. The breach of contract might hold up, but her statement that that was what ruined her life is wrong. Her cheating is what ruined her life. She'll probably settle for much less.
Most people that sue do not have a good reason for it and are just looking for money. It really drags down my perception of people. It's also a shame that court decisions are based entirely on what is written on paper and how loopholes can be exploited. Morality doesn't even enter the ruling.

I don't think she deserves anything though but the fact that you can get a remedy in a situation like that isn't a bad thing. What if her husband was an abusive SOB who she'd left and he did this to try and track her down again?
No. She can't sue for it destroying her life as it was her own dishonesty that caused the situation in the first place.
She could try and get a little compensation for her information being given out so freely, I don't know what your version of the Data Protection Act is in Canada (I hope and assume you have something similar) but breaking that can result in cash penalties.
Actually she does. Dumb bitch should have considered the consequences before she went and slept around. Also, if she considers her marriage 'her life', that flies right in the face of her cheating in the first place.
even tough she is a ho as stated before she does have legal ground, her phone account was under a different name from that of her husbands, she wasn't even using her marriage last name so the company had to get permission from both parties due to privacy concerns, so yes she can and probably will get money and even tough her situation is a little mess up cause of her cheating etc.. certain people should be concerned at how this was done without her permission because it can also happen to you if they don't have any real privacy rules in place.
From the looks of it, you guys are all fuckin idiots. Basically a cell phone service is totally different than any other service. My Mom has AT&T for her cell phone and I have it for my home phone. It is completely a breach a contract just to combine the two. Yeah she's an dumb ass for cheating, but that's not the reason she's suing. The reason is for breach of contract.
