If you have known me since 2006, then check this video out and hopefully, you will get something from it.
Gamespot Reminisce
Those days were the best. This new GiantBomb community is a little edgy - they seem way to hostile. Mind you the staff are noticeably better here.

you're going to get hostility everywhere you look on the internet. i do, however, miss old gamespot.
Old Gamespot was pretty awesome. Alex Navaro's video reviews were great, especially that original Robo Cop review. I still visit GS every now any then...because they have that 'blanket' coverage where very few games slip through the cracks. But GB covers all the games I care about, and in the style I prefer.
@nail1080: I wanted it to be on Gamespot because of the fact is that is where my friendship with some people began and just wanted to retrace my steps per se. I like Giant Bomb for what it does but there are just certain things I miss about the old GS that would be great if they had some of them on here.
I was never a big part of the community there though i was a member since.. 2005 maybe ? I just looked at the news and reviews. But yes, i do remember the old Gamespot being... alot cooler and nicer.
I thought about this recently as well. I still remember when you and I beat the first Streets of Rage together and I accidentally betrayed you at the end. Good stuff. Also like, all of our Gears bashes and the awesome nonsense that brought. 'Halp meh!'
It's definitely a shame that we've all moved on/can't stand each other or whatever at this point. Maybe this summer we can have an ol' fashioned Gears 2 night...? I'd like that.
" ughhhh couldn't you judt type this out or put it on youtube a gamespot link, really? pffft"Ladies and gentlemen, the most easily irritated man on the internet.
The best things about Gamespot were Jeff, Ryan, Brad, Vinny, Greg, Alex, Carrie and Matt. They've gone onto do great things so Gamespot means nothing. Have fond memories but the rest of the Gamespot crew back then had nothing on that team, not even sure who they have working there today.
I definitely miss those times as well. I haven't really been too inspired or motivated to create any video blogs because there isn't much community activity on Giant Bomb or Gamespot. Of course, it's not like I have been very active lately myself either. Life takes up a lot of time but I think that when things start settling down I will be ready to deliver something. We will see.
I always wanted to be a contestant on Button Mashing. I remember an episode where the finalist faced Alex in Guitar Hero, where he picked "You Got Another Thing Coming" and won. I practiced that song from medium - expert for the next few weeks for some reason, aha.
And there was that episode where someone was playing Jeff in... was it Double Dragon? And for the first time I could remember, they were pretty close to winning, but of course the camera cut away and the episode just ended.
...man those were good times.
I loved that video. It showcased how working at gamespot was awesome and such.
Now it's all about giving games high scores so they can make money off adverts.
This vid is awesome as well.
Alex: I can't do this.
Jeff: Do the job.
Alex: No. No. I can't. I... This game is too much.
Jeff: DO. THE. JOB.
Alex: Have you looked at this game? Have you played this game?
Jeff: Have you done the job?
Alex: No, I have not.
Jeff: DO. THE. JOB.
---
Alex: Jeff says I have to play this game. I don't want to play this game anymore. But Jeff says I have to play this game. Jeff... Jeff is a bad person.
---
Alex: If I can't play the game physically, then he can't make me play the game.
Glad he's now part of Whikey Media.
" I miss these days, and before. "I remember that. Good times.

have you been to gamespot lately
everyone on the forums are 12 and are only interested in meme's and 4chan
I honestly don't miss a thing except GregK's editorial. Every other thing I gave a damn about plus swearing and quick looks made its way to GiantBomb.com (it's a website about video games). Couldn't have worked out better for me.
