How Avatar Should Have Ended

Yep another post about Avatar. And rather than saying what's wrong with the film, I'm actually gonna say how the film (particularly the ending) can be improved. So I made this comic. Truly, this is how the movie really should have ended. Would have saved those soldiers a hell of a lot of time. 
 
For those who can't read the text very well:
PANEL ONE: These orbital images show the hostiles' number have gone from a couple of hundred to over 2,000 in one day, and more are pouring in. By next week it could be 20,000. Then they'll be overrunning our perimeter here. We can't wait. Our only security lies in pre-emptive attack. We will fight terror with terror. And how are we going to do that?
 
PANEL TWO: We will nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
 
PANEL FIVE: Damn that's good coffee.

Although would've nuking it made a lot of the Unobtanium......un-obtainable?

That ending looks like a satire of how Alien vs Predator: Requiem ended.

It would make all the alien metaphor for oil radioactive.

I was expecting one of those "How it should have ended" videos.

 
But this is just as good. Infact, this SHOULD be made into one of those HISHE videos. Seems perfect for it.

Maybe they don't have the technology to nuke Pandora from space.  I'm sure there are a number of reasons that could be given for it...  Really, the only thing I found stupid about the movie was that the huge robot the 'bad dude' (name not significant enough to remember) was riding in, near the end of the movie, also had a giant knife attached to it.  For some reason, that just seems really weird to me.

Apparently unmanned drones don't exist in the future, but they sure as hell have unmanned bulldozers?

well avatar two can be something like that. in the beginning they nuke the avatars and then two survive and makes a casino. they reproduce to make more to work at the casino. the armory people end up getting a gambling problem.
 
the avatars make an AAA for gambling problems. they make more money.

I really hope Avatar 2 is set on a different world and the orbital bombardment of Pandora is mentioned. I also hope Avatar 2 doesn't suck like the first one did and five times as much money is spent on animating purple dog people.

Actually the thought had occurred to me that a nuke wouldn't have harmed the unobtainium, seeing as how the huge deposit they wanted was under the giant tree. At this point in the story, they had already blown down the tree, and all the Na'vi had refuged at that sacred grove, away from the huge deposit of macguffin. So yeah, dropping a nuke would have made perfect sense.

That would have been a wonderful ending. :)

its explained why things like anuke wouldn't work at all though. but that would be an hilarious ending for a special feature spoof on the dvd

Cute, but that definitely would have been stupid. I think the ending is one of Avatar's strongest points. I thought it was ended perfectly, to be honest. Everything led up to it incredibly well.

It should have ended when the Na'vi's home tree got destroyed, because the native americans lost in real life.

I know guys I know. I'm just being silly, just like those HISHE videos that helped inspire this comic.

If the film really wanted a good message the corporation would win and the message would be more true to life: Underdogs don't win.

So when does he go back for the cat?

It should have been ended when James Cameron pitched the film.

They should have put a "self destruct" mechanism in the avatar bodies that could be triggered remotely.

Titanic has just ended at the premiere, and James Cameron is screaming "I'm the king of the world", then Chuck Norris comes over, and roundhouse-kicks him into orbit, and he would die, having wet dream about the smurf-catpeople.

That certainly would have been a more abrupt ending.

It's basically a mining operation with a private mercenary security force. I know it's the future, but I like to think that we still regulate nukes in it. 
Also it's not like they have an on-call Stardestroyer in orbit at all times. I mean it took them 6 years just to get a small shuttle crew over there.

It should've ended like the cinema scene in Inglorious Basterds and killed every idiot who paid to see the flick.

If he wanted to make a point, he would of ended it realistically driving the point home.   I'm not saying movies need unhappy endings, i'm saying that for the points THIS film was trying to make, if it was serious it would of been to its benefit to finish that way. Instead of being   "YAY we can fight back against the corporations!  Oh happy days sunshine and rainbows, i made a difference to the environment by simply watching this movie!"  If this movie wanted to make an actual difference it would of been better to enrage and rally the audience to a cause, as opposed to finishing everything up happily thus closing it off. "
