If I was going to be entirely honest with myself, probably this. When I say the word aloud, it sounds more like "bay-duh" than "bay-tah". I don't accentuate the "t" so, in my haste, it sounds like a "d".

No I wasn't talking about the IPA I know what that looks like I was talking about the normal alphabet used phonetically like above. I'm sure there are formal rules about that.

It's not a big deal I was just wondering.

@theguy: There are lots of systems using that with differences among them. Though I've never actually seen "eh" used for the particular sound he's going for here, so it's a bit confusing, but still understandable if we think of the stereotypically Canadian "eh".
