Okay guys so I found this video and a lot of people think it is offensive..
I just want to know, why is the rooster thing so offensive?
You're kidding right? You really don't know?
Muslims believe you're not supposed to depict Muhammad. At all. Which this does... I think. It suggests with the title it does. I dunno, if you watch the news you'll realise that some of them are extremely touchy.
" I believe it is against the Islamic faith to have any dcepictions of Muhammed. "
" @Yukoei: We live in a world where people, like my grandmother, believe all white people will go to hell because they are white. This is just the icing of the cake. "But I don't wanna go to hell! Its too warm!
Cos Muhammed's a dick and doesn't like to have fun.
How's that for offensive?!
Also on a sidenote, what about Muhammed fanfics... are they permitted? I wanna read "Muhammed meets Ebert" or "Why Muhammed believes videogames are art".
Every group of people rather it be religious or not are offended by different things. Christians aren't typically offended by images of Jesus so long as it isn't derogatory, but Muslims are more on-edge about imagery. This goes hand and hand with human personalities. I might not be offended by something that could totally piss you off. I'm in the Army, but if you called me a sailor or Marine instead of a Soldier, that would offend me." @EpicSteve said:
" @Yukoei said:But so is Jesus/God which people love to make fun of and as a Catholic I don't get all super angry about it. "" @Ryax said:Because it's a god to a huge percentage of the world. "" cuz Muhammad is more sacred than anything ever "Why? "
Speaking of which, this Thursday is Draw Muhammad Day. As for the video.....I'm not even sure it has a point, let alone if it offends anybody.
To be honest I think religion now is just bullshit in general, a set of beliefs and rules that are constantly getting changed from the original.
but that's just me, I hardly know anything about religion.
because muslims are still in the stage of where christians used to be in the middle ages where the pope would have anyone killed if they slandered god and jesus or even showed anything of them they would take as offensive.
Muslims don't consider Mohammad to be God/Allah, to them both Mohammad and Jesus were Prophets (among others). One of the reasons Mohamed is revered more than the others is he is the one that God revealed the Qur'an to (via the angel Gabriel) and is held up as a role model as to how one should behave." @EpicSteve said:

Just to clarify, Mohammad isn't a God to anyone. He's supposed to be the last prophet, whereas (to contrast) Jesus is God in Christianity. I'm stepping a bit out of my element here, but I think Jesus is supposed to be a prophet in Islam as well.
As for why people get offended: Fundamentalists are not reasonable people. Luckily, free societies allow for people to be reasonable.
" @Yukoei said:Well if you want to be obnoxious sure." @Ryax said:Because if you saw him, then you could judge him. You could question the faith. You could disagree. You could think peripherally. We all know no one wants that. "" cuz Muhammad is more sacred than anything ever "Why? "

The only thing that is offensive about that video is that it's awful and not in anyway entertaining or funny.
