I'm older than most of you here so I gotta say...your generation shakes hands like a pansy. Grip that bitch!
How is your handshake?
" Well...depends who I'm shakin' with. "This. It depends how the person initially grasps.
We don't shake hands up here. I've tried it once, but you guys can be real jerks about it. Personally, I prefer your air-hand-spank things.
Firm but not so hard that it seems like you're trying. It's best to leave the impression "you couldn't get out of this grip but if I really wanted I could break every bone in your hand".
" @BeachThunder said:This - I try to be aggressive but a lot of people recently have been crab clawing my fingers at the joint. I mean what the hell can you do there?" Well...depends who I'm shakin' with. "This. It depends how the person initially grasps. "
Medium-Aggressive. It's funny when the gangster kids I meet try to give me daps and I just end up crushing their hand and shaking it. They're always dumbfounded, like they've never met an adult before.
" I had the "Firm handshake while looking into whoever's hand your shaking's eyes" concept drilled into me as a kid. I've always felt that making a good first impression starts at the handshake (as does the assertion of dominance). "Yes, and to assert your dominance further, make sure your palm is facing somewhat toward the floor so theirs is facing somewhat up (in the submissive posture).
A whole lot happens in the first few moments of meeting someone, even if you aren't aware of it.
" @JJWeatherman said:Why do I get the feeling that you were going to say that either way?" @Zafmg said:Oooohhh that's too bad "" @JJWeatherman said:Palm-down, obviously. "" I bump fists. "Sideways or palm-down? "
Dang you're reading me like a book here get out my pages" @Zafmg said:

Very firm, although I always feel like too firm, because the opposing person is never quite as firm.
Firm though I've been told a little too tightly by a few people, like I was trying a little too hard. That usually only happens when I judge someone that I feel would require a firmer handshake than usual though; apparently I'm usually wrong. :/
What kind of person do you feel requires a firmer handshake? Children? The elderly? Dogs?" Firm though I've been told a little too tightly by a few people, like I was trying a little too hard. A little too firm. I always handshake my friends and we try to crush each others grip, i end up inadvertently doing it to people i just meet. In freshman year of college I met a friends BF and gripped his hand as hard as I fucking could without even realizing what I was doing and he was like "dude what the fuck?" We never spoke again after that
