I am craving another RPG (just beat mass effect, finally) and I can't decide which one to get.

the ones I am thinking about are

oblivion (the only reason i would think twice about this one is because I finished fallout 3 not to long ago ( i did almost everything) and I am kind of burnt out on bethesda games)

star ocean (looks like good JRPG fun)

lost odyssey

fable 2 (loved the first one)

I'd recommend Fable 2 or Oblivion, I spent a lot of time on both. You cant really go wrong if you pick one of those games.

Fable 2 and Star Ocean - best of both worlds. I really don't see why people hate on Fable 2, it was probably my GOTY 2008.

Oblivion is good but you could complete two fantastic games in the time it would take to complete that one.

If your looking to the far east, Star Ocean.  If your in the North American/EU area, Fable 2 (you will burn out on Oblivion as a result of your Fallout completion).

Oblivion = Good open world game, a bit boring, Fallout 3 is better all around, but it's still good.

Star Ocean 4 = Fetishistic anime archetypes meet Thunderbirds-esque puppeteering /w horrible English voice acting and repetitive gameplay.  If you can ignore, or get into all of that it's a pretty good game.

Lost Odyssey = Epic and emotionally stirring JRPG.  Very solid all around, install the game to your HDD for half the load time (literally).

Fable 2 = A crazy mix of gameplay elements with fairly solid combat gameplay.  A fair amount to mess around and do.

They're all decent games but none are far ahead of the rest.  Personally I'd rate them (from best to worst) : Oblivion, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean 4

I would recommend Oblivion.  Although it shares the same engine (thereabouts) as Fallout 3, the experience is quiet different.  There is plenty to do and non-story missions show a lot of variety.  Completing missions for each guild is a lot of fun and the world is very engrossing .  I'm actually thinking about jumping back into in here pretty shortly since I'm stuck on a mission in inFAMOUS.  Whichever game you do choose to pick up and play,  good luck and enjoy!

Oh, you beat that? Well, Fallout 3.

Oh, that too? Well, Fable 2 is fun.

Jackpot.

Fable 2 is the most fun to play out of those.  Disappointing story but still a very good game.

If you like the JRPGs I highly recommend Lost Odyssey.  That game has a very interesting and unique story.

I'd go Fable 2 or Star Ocean, but when you're not burned out on Bethesda, Elder Scrolls IV is all sorts of cool.  Really love Fable 2.

If you're burnt out on Bethesda, I'd go for Lost Odyssey. I'm 20 hours in at the moment, and I'm loving it.

But! If you're not 100% sure that you're fed up of Bethesda I'd go for Oblivion. It's amazing, and surprisingly different to Fallout; and prettier.
