The 60s and 70s version of Japan sure knew how to uniquely spin American superhero icons into something entirely new and wondrous in and of themselves. Those who have paged through a copy of Bat-Manga, the first English release of some rather old Batman manga chapters, know this fact very, very well. Perhaps not be outdone by DC, Marvel went out of its way to translate and release a subtitled version of the first episode of a decades old Spider-Man drama. It's safe to assume it isn't canon, I'm guessing. That doesn't make it any less epic, though.
Japanese Spider-Man is Japanese and Epic.

I saw the Batman manga at my local Borders a few weeks ago, almost picked it up due to it's inherit weirdness.
...the lyrics that open this show is: "yeah, yeah, wow!"
Oh, Japan... Puddie monsters and a giant robot? With Spiderman? It's stuff like this that reminds me that not only is Japan has a history of "strange-awesomeness."
I've seen that before, and lol'd the first time. Marvel would not let them get away with that twist on the beloved character today, I mean, look all that Gundam stuff lol, that would never be allowed.
"But does it compare to the Italian Spiderman!?"Gotta love,Italian Spidermanhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhHhXukovMU
and don't forget Fillipino Batman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wygrQ1rYeAQ
but my favorite isIndian Superman (with guest star Spider...girl?)
There are plenty of Turkish versions of Comic Book heroes as well. The odd thing is that they join each other occasionally. For example Spider-Man starts a low profile burglary in Turkey, then Captain America and Superman gather themselves and team up to come and save people from him.
(I heard it from someone, I never actually watched them)
As if it wasn't already weird and Japanese enough they put a giant freaking mech in just to make sure. Oh Japan...
But is it as epic as the Spider Man Musical?
