So I found out today that my fiancee is pregnant! Considering my age (20), I'm surprised by the utter happiness I felt upon her telling me. My friends are supportive of me, and I've been trying to be optimistic about it. I guess my happiness comes from the fact that she isn't supposed to be able to have kids. I remember the doctor telling us both that due to some health problems she was born with, she could never have children. Well, FUCK YOU DR. WRONG! She's pregnant now! Anyway, we plan to get married in November, earlier than we originally planned, and I'm legitimately happy about this. Maybe when my kid is growing up, I can introduce it to some gaming goodness.
Edit: Really should have made this a blog, not sure why I didn't....
Just found out that I'm going to be a father!
Thanks everyone! I'm surprised by how positive most of the responses have been so far. TROLL SHIELD, ACTIVATE!!!!
Start the little person out on handhelds, they're more accessible for kids. Also keep your old systems around so they can be exposed to the classics of your gaming generation, it's a great bond.
Congrats dude. I know the feeling when my girlfriend told me about her being pregnant. It's pretty damn awesome. She already has a kid of her own and this one is going to be the first grandchild for my parents.
Here's a lil something that will get you more excited. Something my girls son loves to do.
" @HunterPredd: We have both agreed on the first name of Lucas and the middle name of Cyril (after my grandfather) in case it's a boy. We're still thinking about the female name, should it turn out to be one. Evelyn and Anastasia have been considered though. "The only female name you need to consider is Seven.
" Awesome!! I hope I'm that positive when my child comes around. Thats amazing that she was able to conceive. Time to start thinking about names! Which franchise to honor? kidding, unless ya wanna...... then name 'em duke "Funny you say that. I wanted to call my son duke, but his mother didn't take to kindly to thought of his first and middle name being Duke Nukem.
That's awesome, man! It's a pretty young age to become a father, I'm 18 and I can't even begin to imagine what I would do if I was in a similar position. Yesterday one of my friends got engaged, and she just turned 18, so guess there's a lot of mature people around my age, nice to know. But yeah, congratulations, and good luck with it all!
" In this day in age 20 isn't young, kids at 13-14 are having babies everyday but at least you are older and hopefully more mature then most young people who have kids. GL HF GG kidding aside congrats, you have many sleepless nights ahead of you. "TBH having kids at 20 is old fashioned. My parents had my brother when they were 23 and me when they were 33
Congrats! It'll be a lot of work but it'll probably just come naturally to you anyway, the awesome parts outweigh the bad. My lil sister just had twin girls and they're hilarious! You'll get to see some genuine smiles, and let me tell you how refreshing that is.
Your life is now forever different. That won't fully sink in until the kid is actually born though. Good luck and grats on becoming a (future) dad.

No, its terrible having children! Why? My two children both want a DSi for Christmas and I can only imagine the girly games they want.
/cry Wanted a boy. XD
But no, really. Congratulations!
Oh and benefits of having children at a young age? Hopefully, if all goes well, they move out of the house when you hit 40-ish.
