alright..so observe and report came out yesturday..i saw it..and pretty much loved it..seth rogen has to be the best young actor around (idk if youd still consider him a young actor or not)..this movie basicly has no plot..well it does, he wants to be a real cop, but they often go away from that to do weird things, which isnt a bad thing..its a really dark comedy kind of movie, rogens character is a depressed man who wants to make something of his life, and i really didnt think the movie would go that deep, but this movie is the funniest movie i have seen since Zack and Miri Make a Porno (another Seth Rogen movie).....so basicly, go see this movie

I plan to see it, but on blu-ray in about six months.  I love Anna Faris as a comedienne (and a "hottie") so I knew it I was going to check out the movie even before I heard Seth Rogan was in it.  Before I saw Zack & Miri, his appearence wouldn't have made a difference to me, but the Kevin Smith comedy was hilarious and so, I'm interested in seeing what he can bring to this film.  I have no intention to see the Kevin James film "Paul Blart" which this film has been compared to, but the combination of Faris and Rogan definately place this on my Netflix queue.  But, I am concerned by you admission that the movie has virtually no plot.  I didn't like Pineapple Express because I felt it went nowhere.  I got bored about half way through and started skipping forward to get it over with.  That's why Rogan still isn't the same type of instant "I'm there" that other actors are, but hopefully the film will make up for its lack of story with lots of the funny.

seth rogen makes up for the bad story, hes spot on through out the whole movie..and plus the ending to the movie is great, it makes up for the story, cause it shows how his character has evolved, and plus if you like anna faris, theres two sex scenes with her in it..cant go wrong there haha

all my friends i watched the flick with expected Pineapple Express and Superbad material and them bashed the shit out the movie after it was over. It was awkward because i fucking LOVED this movie. Also the "Where is my Mind?" scene at the end was... strong, disturbing and fucking hilarious!

basically, see this and don't expect to be riddled with Apatow comedy. It's dark, brutal, and it has the right type of comedy. Kind of like.. Taxi Driver + The Cable Guy
also... don't compare this to Paul Blartt: Mall Cop
two completely different flicks XD

yeah i was shocked about how dark of a comedy it was, i thought the humor remined me of In Bruges (which is my all time favorite movie)..that movie is pretty funny, but has a really dark story, and yes people who compare it to Paul Blartt should not be allowed to see movies

Yeah, I heard this film is nothing like the comedy the trailers are making out to be, that it's much more disturbing than the simple Apatow comedies we're used to seeing Rogen in.

I didn't care for it, but it really isn't the comedy it seems to be. If they lengthened it a bit and added in more jokes I'd probably like it a lot more.
