I'm not really a fan of Reddit by any means but this is insane. Barack Obama will be doing an Ask Me Anything here in about 15 minutes. We live in a strange world.
The President of the United States is about to do an AMA.
There are potential political points to be gained from this, and I imagine this type of thing would be controlled well enough that it won't be people spamming Internet stuff.
I'm curious, is there any proof that this is actually Barack Obama?
It's not hard to link to a Twitter page and post a Google image search result, and since I NEVER use Twitter I've no idea if that's actually a legitimate Twitter account.
The fact that "barack" isn't capitalized in the update makes me even more suspicious.

Wonder if he browses r/deadwomen or whatever that fuckin thing is called
I don't know if i'm laughing because i'm a sick fuck who thinks deadwomen are funny, or because I know there's probably a page about it on reddit. Crazy internet.

The twitter account is verified, which means it's him.
How about we post some of his responses because that cluster fuck of a site isnt doing any justice
Making sure we stay at the forefront of space exploration is a big priority for my administration. The passing of Neil Armstrong this week is a reminder of the inspiration and wonder that our space program has provided in the past; the curiosity probe on mars is a reminder of what remains to be discovered. The key is to make sure that we invest in cutting edge research that can take us to the next level - so even as we continue work with the international space station, we are focused on a potential mission to a asteroid as a prelude to a manned Mars flight.
Internet freedom is something I know you all care passionately about; I do too. We will fight hard to make sure that the internet remains the open forum for everybody - from those who are expressing an idea to those to want to start a business. And although their will be occasional disagreements on the details of various legislative proposals, I won't stray from that principle - and it will be reflected in the platform.
Jordan - I'm a Bulls guy.

It's a Twitter account marked as Verified. Verified accounts are reserved for well known people who can prove it's actually them.

........ I am disappoint.
I'll be interested to see if any controversial issues are touched on or any meaningful statements made or if this is just glad-handing the internet crowd.

Anyone else reading the responses in Obama's voice without actually meaning to?
Yes. Took me a minute to realize I was doing it.
I'm really impressed with the civility and respect he's being shown. Some rightfully tough questions too but he's being given the respect his office deserves.

I feel like it shouldn't be that mind-blowing that a major world leader is displaying that they can genuinely use the internet to interact with other human beings, but this is actually pretty exciting. A shame that Reddit's still down.
It shouldn't feel mind blowing, but then I try to imagine Stephen Harper doing the same thing.
Ugh, Reddit is such an ugly site; regardless, it's always interesting seeing well-known people use the internets :o

Reddit is pretty good in that way. If you stick to the popular posts and articles then the majority of visible comments are fairly decent thanks to the voting system.
Just seems like more generic, "This is part of my platform that I'll never really institute because history has already shown that I, and many other world leaders throughout history, are full of shit."
I'm sorry but when you cut funding to one of the most influential and scientifically important divisions of your country, the same division that has allowed us to peer 14 billion years back in time and also to the center of galaxies, in favor of banking fuckfaces keeping their cushy paycheck while people are forced to foreclose on their house all I see is someone that's full of shit. And that's not to even get on to some of the bills he's passed that allow the government to detain citizens without due process.
However, as someone outside of the US, I still think Obama would be better than Romney. Go with the devil you know and all that...

Haha, this is awesome.
@intoblivion Dude reddit is full of shit like that, until a few months ago there was subreddits dedicated to fuckin child porn, when they were taken down people complained it was "violating their freedom". Scummy fuckin siteI'm not about to be a reddit apologist, but calling the site scummy is ridiculous. There are parts that are disgusting and terrible, but that's what the subreddits are for. For example, I only subscribe to r/ska, r/corgis, r/space etc. They have a couple thousand users each and I never even see any of the normal front page shit. No memes or politics or anything.
