A Machete.
There is a Zombie Outbreak (Weapon of Choice)
Welcome to Giant Bomb duder!
Any sharp object would have been my pick, but AK-47 will do just fine. At least it's quite reliable with minimal errors even if it gets dirty.
Also AK-47 is only gun of those that I have any experience with. (Finnish RK 62)
I would take a spade or shovel. When those things are sharp you can get a decent jab, as well as it just being a usefull tool to have around. An axe is pretty good but you need room to swing, they are usually pretty heavy, and you will get fucking tired if you have to maintain that momentum for any long period of time. A machete would be decent, too. I would avoid anything blunt as a general rule. The idea of baseball bats seems good at the time, but again, you would get tired repeatedly swinging that shit around.
I have put too much time into this.
No M4? I'd roll with the M16 but really wish the M4 was on there instead!
Was in military so would go with something I know as well as the back of my hand.
High five! 62 beats 95.Welcome to Giant Bomb duder!

I'd probably rather not depend on a gun, long term I can't personally manufacture ammo, guns or even adequately maintain them. Plus they are noisy. Would probably rather have a bow and arrow (yay year of the bow), a spear and a flanged mace. Crafting and stringing a bow, fletching arrows, etc. Would be a much easier undertaking than gun/munition manufacture. As for a spear zombies don't really think to dodge or anything, so could likely thrust it into their face from a safe distance. As for closer confines i'd rather a mace of some kind to just smash the skull in, rather than cutting with a blade.
As for those options, I suppose I will go with the Steyr AUG. Configured for use by left handed people of course, taking spent shell casings to the face from right hand focused designs would get annoying hehe.
Long term though i'd rather just go with a more primitive approach, rather than scavenging deminishing supplies. Once the power grid is down a vast amount of food will perish quickly and what little is left won't last too long. A secluded community with farm land and "primitive" weaponry seems more sustainable. As far as guns go I see that as more of an anti human weapon/deterrant. A zombie proof community would only really need a walkable 6 foot or so wall or chain link fence. When the zombies press against it just jab the spear into them. Dispatching them would be more of a daily chore.
None of these.
A Crow bar would be my weapon of choice.
Bludgeoning weapons are better than sharp weapons for a zombie apocalypse as once your blade dulls, you need to get it sharp again or you're fucked, the crowbar can be used as a tool as well as a weapon and doesn't weight much.

A Gundam
Yeah I mean if I can pick anything then I mean come on that is a pretty obvious choice.
Realistically a nice baseball bat, and a machete. Both of those things are pretty easily replaceable, easy to swing, and can kill some zambies.
Oh, come on, guys; I'm genuinely dissapointed in you all. OBVIOUSLY it's supposed to be a far too tight cheer-leader costume and a chainsaw.
Now in all seriousity, after all, a zombie outbreak is no laughing matter. The most terrifying thing about zombies is, ofcourse, their ability to turn you into one of them with a single bite. As such, most melee weapons are rendered a last resort as it puts you in far more danger than necessary. On the other hand, while a gun would be the obvious option, actually handling a weapon is far more difficult than assumed, and there is ofcourse ammunition to be considered. Them zombies ain't gonna' drop you no shot-gun shells or green herbs, fellas. Besides, large pieces of weaponry are heavy, and we're speaking of not surviving for a day, but for weeks in most likelyhood; and unless you have a fortified position to return to, the gun would ultimately slow you down.
As such, I'd probably settle on a riot shield; they're light and offer perfect protection against bludgeoning and ofcourse prevents them zombies from snacking on you, it also allows you to corral them to a degree. Then all you need is A - Machete; as well as, if possible, a hand-gun of sorts for absolutely desperate situations. It's a zombie outbreak, people might very well get it in their heads to kill for provisions, etcetera; and in those situations, a gun will be far more intimidating than a melee weapon. The riot shield again proves invaluable as it offers protection against light fire.
By the way, dude; welcome to giantbomb and thank you for showing us all just what nerds we really are.
Now if I have to be good boy and select one of your options, it'd be the AK-47; simply due to how reliable and easy-to-use it is.
A crossbow, mostly because i then can pick up the arrows afterwards. Bullets are useless after being fired.

Of all ranged weapons crossbow is my weapon of choice, due to the reason above. Plus they are almost silent, so less chance of notifying zombies or other potential survivors wanting my stuffs when it gets used.

IIRC crossbows are a bitch to reload. They're easier to shoot than bows, but they're not much for crowd control. Teaching yourself to use a proper bow would probably be a better idea.
Something that can kill in one blow and doesn't run out of ammo. If good shape is required I will get on that too... so katana?
An Ak-47 would be ideal. Seeing as most gun shops don't sell them they would be hard to come by. I guess out of those I would then go with the M14 EBR since most shops carry a civilian semi-automatic version. If that fails, I would use one of the weapons I currently own, a Glock 22/24 (Reliable, easy to carry, easy to maintain), and my Katana.

Yeah, they take a good time to reload and they're pretty cumbersome.
none of the above. crossbow or compound bow for ranged. and for melee the Crovel its a shovel, on the the sides of the shovel head there is a knife edge, and on the end of the shovel there is a pickaxe/crowbar.
its pretty much the ultimate multi tool. i think its origin is from the Chinese army
give me the M1 Garand 30-6 an easy round to come by and being able to pick them off a mile away is a very big plus.
A bow would be a horrible choice ,because chances are you never shot a bow and dont know how to aim etc. and you would lose your arrows and hurt yourself. If you chose a modern hunting bow, you would have to know how to dial the sights, change the draw, have accessories that keep it silent and balanced, know and have good arrowheads, and most likely the zombies die from getting shot in the head ,so someone who has never trained would never be able to pull that shot off. The problem with a long bow is that you will most likely fuck up your arm and lose all your arrows if you never used one before. Sorry for any grammatical errors.
Edit: Also, crossbows are not very silent and are as hard as hell to reload.

Some sort of spear or long sharp sword.
damnit, thought I'd be the first to say it :P
But ye, spears are pretty under-rated. Long reach, throwing capabilities, less unwieldy than other long reach weapons (claymores or axes) and unlike any projectile weapon you don't have to worry about running out of ammo (although you have to be careful about throwing it ofc). There's probably a higher risk of getting your weapon stuck though, but if you have a few you should be fine.
