So I haven't visited Giantbomb in like over a month now due to exams and stuff like that. But when I returned to today, there were a lot of things that I noticed had happened during my time away.
Apparently Linkyshinks is banned now? Why did that happen? Brad has been getting a lot of hate because of his 2 star review on Lost Planet 2? I thought this community was better than that.
And what else has happened?
I can see that this site has grown A LOT with a whole bunch of new active users. I don't see myself spending much more time on this forum anymore, I'll probably only come here to watch the videos. Screened is probably my new Whiskey Media home.

It went on in the article about Nintendo Power's ridiculous Mario galaxy 2 shenanigans. The argument got really personal, not going to bring it up again, but yeah it was bad.
@Twilight: Although I don't posted to the forums very often, I've been around since the start. I've noticed the community is getting younger, which has dragged down the quality of the posts.
Lost Planet 2 is garbage and everyone knows it, so I doubt people really care about Brad's review.
This community has gone so far down hill in the past few months. Increased mod presence wont save it now. Every interesting member has either been banned or has left due to the high bullshit levels.

The entire reasoning behind why he was banned only the mods know, but I'm sure that they handled this whole situation respectfully and professionally like they are supposed to and they surely have send Linkyshinks a couple of warnings and suspended him at least once before perma banning him. Surely.

If those of you defending him knew what he did, then you'd understand why he got banned. He was acting like a freaking troll near his end here, and he got what he deserved.
I can't locate the exact comment that got him banned, but it was extremely insulting to one of the members of the staff. And his whole attitude in that thread was insulting to begin with.
Linky was banned because he had sand in his vagina and was insulting the staff and other users. Me being one of them, but I didn't report him. He was becoming a troll, it was getting bad.
We need to have this become a sticky or something, because we're getting a thread like this every week. PM somebody and ask them what happened, don't open up old wounds.

Linkyshinks was a user on these forums. I don't want to be mean, but there's no real need for us to discuss Linky on the forums. He was banned for a very valid reason, and there's no need to discuss it. It's the past, and it was nothing more than e-drama. No big deal. Welcome back again as well Twilight! I remember seeing you around the forums before you left for exams and stuff, and it's awesome to see Endogene back as well! I'm not sure if either of you will recognise me (likely not, but whatever). Still, welcome back to the site.

Just calling it as I see it. Mordeki left months ago for this reason. He warned me it was going down hill. I didnt believe him and now it totally has. Im holding out for it to get better because I love this site more than any other gaming site around. Im just calling it like I see it.

Linkyshinks insulted Jeff (After MONTHS for trolling); Brad is not necessarily hated, but has less respect; and some other stuff happened. In my opinion, you didn't miss much; Linkyshink's banning was a big deal to the community, but it was like middle-school drama and was an overall farce, so you probably wouldn't want to be part of that.
I just don't know who "every interesting member" includes. I've seen like 2 regulars take off, that's it. The game cover cock thread is like the best thing this forum ever produced and its a pretty new thread. The only real problem at GB is Nicholson posting shit articles constantly and that problem is brand new. And it will naturally attract the kind of users who like that sort of quantity based "first!" bullshit. Hopefully the real staff will see how much this person is lowering their stock all around and give him the boot soon before he attracts more of the kind of shit users that keep me away from other game sites.

So what? If someone posts a load of porn in a thread, he should just come out with a warning and that's that? There are some things that'll get you banned instantly, and that's understandable. He was acting like a troll, and he insulted the staff of the website he posts on. And how should you know if he got warnings or not? But like you said "it is my final post on the matter", so I don't expect a response.
I have noticed the quality of posts go down a bit from some of the newer members as well. The thing is though, I tend to just ignore that type of stuff to begin with since it happens to every site. That's why following dudes is usually the route to quality blogs and posts :D
