I have heard of none of them.
Which of these bands do you prefer?
" The Bittersweet Symphony is awesome. "They are well known for that song, but you should listen to their album A Storm in heaven. It is their best to me.
I'm just gonna go with Massive Attack because they do the theme song for House M.D. and their song was used for an Uncharted Drakes Fortune trailer.
I don't think so at all, it's probably because of where these bands are from. You'd be hard pressed to find someone in the UK or Ireland who hasn't heard of at least a few of these bands." @TheGremp said:
Yeah, that seems like what's going on. "" ITT: OP showing off his music that no one has ever heard of. Thus, he is uber cool and has better music taste than us. "
Edit: Point of reference for The Manic Street Preachers, one of my favourite songs:
" ITT: OP showing off his music that no one has ever heard of. Thus, he is uber cool and has better music taste than us. "If he wanted to be an elitist music douchebag he would have picked far more obscure, trendy bands. People who haven't heard of any of the bands he listed are either too young or live under a rock...
I choose H. Massive Attack because they're the only one I've heard of. They did the House M.D. theme song and its pretty cool.
I thought people would at least know Joy Division to a certain extent or The Verve (Bitter Sweet Symphony?).
christ, you guys need to broaden your horizons a little bit. Liven it up! download some torrents... beyond videogames.
like someone said, it isn't like these are small obscure punk bands from the Seattle scene, or local UK bands.
These are MAJOR LABEL bands. Jeez, get off the fucking modern warfare already.
Portishead, easily. But Massive Attack is also choice.
I really like the song that was used in Uncharted trailer on PSN. Dissolved Girl is the name of the tune. Also, the song that was used in Snatch. That's how I first got into MA. Angel is the name of that song.
whoa none of these bands are obscure if you live in the UK...and the smiths...people haven't heard the smiths...really!?
" he would have picked far more obscure, trendy bands. "What an oxymoron. Obscure and trendy are on opposite sides of the popularity spectrum. Unless you meant that intentionally getting into obscure shit is a trendy thing to do... then yes. But that's not what you meant.
