There's his smug demeanor and his attitude is negative 97% of the time which basically makes him like Jeff, Ryan and Brad. I like him, he definitely belongs. My only problem with him is he takes himself too seriously and ends up sounding like a chump.
Alex is cool. I admit that he's not always pleasant to watch/listen to, but he should give his Screened position to somebody else and move in with Giant Bomb for good. All five guys have known eachother for 5+ years now and they really work well together. Plus I'm not really a fan of Screened.
Alex can have a bit of a snarky attitude sometimes, but I think his reviews on both screened and giantbomb, and I really like the different features he does for both sites. I would be disappointed if he left either site to do something else.

Trolls will troll. He is a great guest on the Bombcast and picks good movies. His style is a bit different than the rest of the crew but he is still quite good. I take Will in a fight over him, though.

If this is an argument for not-liking Alex... I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't get along with real-life Ryan and real-life Jeff AT ALLLLLLLLLLLL. They are still funny on videos, and I have no problems with them being there.
I'm with Team Alex but I think he shouldn't focus on the haters, I recall listening to a bombcast where he said something along the lines of apologizing in advance for people that didn't like his voice in the comments section of the last bombcast he was on.

I like Alex. The man does good work. People just feel ownership over the site and for some reason they see Alex as encroaching on their territory, and taking their dream position.
I've always liked Alex, ever since the Gamespot days but I do find some of his jokes are just straight up dumb, dumb in the way that "you really probably shouldn't have said that and now we have to immediately change topic because of you". Great guy though, just making an observation.
I'm not going to be a prissy little bitch who'll talk about somebody behind their back, or complain about a legitimate writer. If I have a problem with him personally (i.e.: I don't like his face) I'll deal with it myself and not spew my bullshit all over the comment threads. If I have a real problem with his writing or something he says in a video I'll address it there in a honest and forward way.
Frankly, I think he is a damn good writer, one of the best on the site.
I think he is a good worker and I respect what he does. I just don't find his humor to my liking. His humor just comes across unfunny, his one word remarks he sneaks in when people are talking are very rarely funny. To be honest, I never really liked him back on Gamespot, so its just stuck with me. I never liked Brad back then either but i've come to masturbate over Brad (joke).
I don't really have a problem with him but sometimes his sarcasm or cynicism feels a little forced. It sounds like he tries to be overly sarcastic because there's a camera or mic. But maybe it's also just the way he is, I don't know.
Damn good writer (really enjoy reading his reviews) and I think it's a good thing that he helps out on GB.
Always impressed/mortified by people's unshakable penchant for outright disdain of a human being they have not at all interacted with in person, and of whom they know nothing about other than what is seen/read/heard on the internet.

I'd say Rorie is my favourite editor at Whiskey Media.
Alex was one of my fave reviewers on Game Spot but he's just not quite as funny as the other Giant Bomb guys. He's kinda like a muted Jeff, I don't need a muted Jeff, I have a full volume Jeff, he's called JEFF!
I didn't know there was a consensus about the community's feelings towards him, but I personally don't like his attitude. He seems to dislike alot of things excessively from what I hear from him on the podcast. As far as his work is concerned, no problems.
