Your Current Screensaver?

I'm curious if anyone still even uses personalized screensavers these days. Is everyone just on power saver now? If you do use a screensaver, is it one that came with your computer, or did you find a nice one for when you're not around? And if you have a cool screensaver, can you share it/where you got it?

I haven't used one in a long time.  I just turn off the monitor.

See, now this thread was worth it. XD

Throw into the "off button bandwagon".

I didn't even bother to set one, I just turn off the monitor.

Just dumb matrix code-thingy. 
Looks fancy on 3 tiny monitors and a TV.. But it's been turned off for almost a year now. But it's the only Matrix Screensaver worth looking at. 

screensavers haven't been necessary in years.

People use screensavers? Holy shit, did the time machine finally work?

I use an old screensaver from the game Phantom Crash. You can still download it via way back machine(link).

Mine is a loop of all the Mass Effect 2 loading animations.

I use the old maze one, but it never comes on because I just turn the monitor off.

Probably haven't had a screensaver on since Windows 95.

Unless you're on a plasma or CRT, they're not necessary.

I do miss the old rat maze thing though.

When the Matrix was cool i had a Matrix screensaver.

Seriously, that was back when old CRTs would get ruined if you didn't have a screensaver. No reason for them to exist now...

My screen just turns to standby after a while, I rarely turn off my monitor.

I had to take a look. Looks like I disabled it. I just turn off the monitor if I walk away for longer.

The last time I had a screen saver was at the start of XP and stopped shortly there after.

Johnny Castaway.  His teeth fell out and he got skin cancer a long time ago.  Things aren't as dynamic on that island anymore.

@Trav: That is basically the same reaction one of my friends had the first time he saw it. I say you guys are just missing out.

I never really used a screensaver since my oldest computers in the late nineties.

Well I guess I'm not alone in thinking that screensavers are totally pointless then. My monitor just turns off after 30 minutes of inactivity. Simple.

Ever since I got my own PC I haven't used a screensaver and I don't think I've seen anyone using one since, what, like 2003 or something.

Either I'm using my screen or I turn it off. If you really want to use a "screensaver" just make it turn off the screen.

Actually screensavers are pretty stupid, either you are using the screen and can't see the sreensaver because you use the PC, or you're gone from the PC and can't see the screensaver because you either are in another room or not looking at the screen...

Just got some of the standard Windows ones.  Bubbles on my main monitor, ribbons on my other one.  They come on after about ten minutes, and I think it takes like half an hour or so for my monitors to change to power saving mode.

A black screen.

I don't use one, but I still set my friend's screensavers to the custom message one that bounces around the screen and just put "8====D" as the words. Because I'm five

I just turn off the monitor. I can't even remember the last one I used.

I haven't had a screen saver since I started using my HDTV as my monitor because if I'm not using it I'll usually just turn it off.

Mine just has all the album art from iTunes.

Does my screen shutting off count as a screen saver? Because that's the one I use.

I have never used them. They always come on at the worst times so I have my PC set to never shut off the screen or use a screen saver. If I'm on the PC I'm using it for something. If I know I'm going to walk away from it for more then a few minutes then I turn it off.

If I'm not using my computer I just put it to sleep. Screensavers are only for nostalgia now.

I'm just using a picture slideshow from "My Pictures"

Unless you're on a plasma or CRT, they're not necessary.
