Pie > Cake

Cherry pie beats all, honestly.  

Pie in it's traditional pastry form is nothing more than cooked fruit soup.  Gross.  If I wanted mushy warm apple bits, I would have smoked some mushrooms and killed myself...I mean eat some apple pie.
 
Aside from pumpkin pie, where the crust always sucks anyway, I've never had a good pie.  However, cake is rarely not good.  The only downside is frosting, which taste's like a cloud's diarrhea run through a tacky chair at a homegoods store.  I rather enjoyed my incoherent insults in this post but as it stands: cake w/ icing > pie with fruit filling.

Cake is for kids birthday parties. Pie is for adult gatherings. :P
 
On a side note, according to wikipedia, Boston Cream Pie is a cake. Huh? lol

Pie is better than cake in general, but a well made cheesecake could trump all.
 
Except maybe a well made key lime pie, but my point still stands.

P.S. if pizza qualifies as pie, there's no contest whatsoever - I could live off pie exclusively. Cake just can't compete, unless there's a delicious meat cake I don't know about, beating pizza at the savory game.

Is pizza a pie? If yes, then title is true; otherwise, title is false.

If cheesecake counts as cake then cake wins if pizza counts as pie then that wins. Otherwise pie is much better than cake.

I'm not sure one is better than the other. I am only sure that Pie <> Cake.

Fuck, I'm kind of cringing after reading my 3 year old post in this thread. I maintain my original opinion but holy fuck I could have been way better at conveying my point. It's not even the age difference that's the killer but the lesson inherent in looking at older posts.

So I guess 3 years later I have to apologize to @asurastrike for being completely ineffective at not being kind of a dick through my post. Still though, that Spiderman Cake looks dope.

I agree with this.

I love pie (even non dessert kind) but it seems mainland europe is mostly pro cake and the closest you get to pies is tarts.

You can't ask people to choose, it's immoral.

I don't really like the pie crust, so I'll go with cake every day of the week.

Pie > cake. Especially hair pie. Yum

Pie is overrated as hell. Cake all the way!
