Let's be honest here...they only have Yakuza and the Total War games. Other than that, Sega is about as creatively bankrupt as Capcom.

So Siliconera has some more insight into why Sega made this decision

Long story short, they are killing it on mobile, are forecasting ~50% (!!) increase in revenue last fiscal thanks in part to those games. So Sega is focusing their resources into what they call "console quality" mobile games aimed at the Asian markets.

On the other hand, some of their console games are struggling to push out 100K units. Sonic Boom in particular was considered a financial disaster, although it did push 500K. And furthermore they are experiencing intense margin pressure in "packaged goods" so they don't think it's a profitable avenue for them anymore.
