This was my first summer sale so I may have overspent a little... to the tune of 259.27 USD.

Wow. The thing about the sales is that the more you participate in (especially with fall and winter sales), the less you "need" to buy next time. Your future sales should be a bit cheaper. :)

I budgeted $100 and spent $74.04, so I just picked up Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die (two early access zombie games... because I hate myself, I guess). Sitting at a nice clean $100.56 now. A little less if I count all the cards I sold (got 3 foils, worth about $8 total when I sold).

Man you guys seriously don't play any games all year long and then just buy them in bulk twice a year? Those lists are kinda nuts to me.

Nah, what I think most of us do is plan ahead or just overbuy. The games I'm buying now I probably won't play for months, some probably even next year, due to my massive backlog created through humble bundles & sales.

I'm constantly playing games, I've beaten 49 games so far this calendar year, probably meaningfully played 55-60 + god knows how many hours in DOTA 2, and I've got a long way to go before I'll touch most of what I just bought.

But if I can get a Broken Age now for 8.49 now, which I know I'll play eventually, I'm going to take that opportunity. Even at the end of the sale, I'll usually end up spending less than one or two new console titles, yet I've acquired months of games to tide me over to the next sale.

Has anyone played Stalker: Clear Sky or Metro 2033? I haven't played either but the atmosphere looks really cool, I'm wondering if it's worth if for 4.99 and 2.99.

I picked up Resident Evil 4...

That's actually it. I'm considering getting Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas in the final hours of the sale but can't decide between them. What's generally considered the better out of the two?

Liked Skyrim or Oblivion? Get Fallout 3. Liked the old school Fallout games and their lore? Get New Vegas.

I bought 4 games, 3 of which I bought because of some video on GB.

Blackguards (QL looked interesting.)

The Fall (A game worth playing.)

Next Car Game (Just look at last weeks UPF madness.)

Octodad (Because it's great.)

There really wasn't anything else I was even slightly interested in, though.

  • Shadowrun: Returns (and eventually Dragonfall)
  • E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy
  • Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings
  • Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World
  • Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut
  • BattleBlock Theater

That's probably more than I usually buy at these sales, given that I tend to go for bundles, and these were all individual games, and Deadly Premonition/Battleblock Theater were really the only impulse buys on the last day.

I know the sale is almost over (44:00 minute warning everyone!) But I have to say that, that is the most correct statement someone has ever made about those games.

Damn, I should not have waited until the last 10 minutes of the sale to decide I would buy those games in my cart. Steam's super slow.

Spent a little over $100, only game I wanted but decided to wait was South Park, which was the only game I was looking to get going into the sale. Banished is the only one I've played so far, it's frustrating but I'm enjoying it.

Spent $5 on cards, I admit it's silly, but I've spent much more on much stupider things and I do enjoy the trading aspect to the cards quite a bit.

Killer is Dead

Injustice: Gods Among Us

Spacebase DF-9

Deus Ex: The Fall

Banished

Dishonored

Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry

Assassin's Creed Liberation HD

How to Survive

Murdered: Soul Suspect

Shadowrun Returns

Halo: Spartan Assault

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
