In regards to a private steam gift group, if I were to start one up, who would be willing moderate?

I would put a link to PM you on the forums in the OP - so people who join the group can contact you via GB to tell you their steam username.

I created a Nuclear Dawn giveaway. It's a short one because I won't be around later and will be away tomorrow. These are going to be relatively common so I didn't feel like stretching it out into the weekend.

Just put up a copy of BitTrip Runner that I've had sitting in my inventory. Starts in about twenty minutes.

And just added the Penny Arcade Adventures combo pack.

@Hamst3r: I would love to help moderate a steam gift group. We could even set a day of the week for people to start their giveaways and post an announcement in the group that aggregates all the giveaways together.

Maybe forum post count over x00 or wiki edits points so that people in group contribute to GB community at least in one of two ways.

I don't think the prerequisites for joining should be set in stone. Post count, wiki points, reviews and such all matter, it should just be easy to tell by looking at someone's profile whether they're an active member of the community or not. I think the one thing we should avoid is picking people based on premium membership anyway.

Do you have to buy the game you're going to give away first? Or can you set up the giveaway first and then sort that out later? And how does one giveaway these games, do you message the winner through steam and handle it that way or is it done automatically somehow?

@pyromagnestir: You can buy it anytime but you may receive negative feedback if you don't gift the game within a week of the giveaway closing. Once the entry period ends the winners email address is shown and you can email them the code through steam (Inventory -> Item -> Send Gift...)
