Is there anything you've got on your wishlist that you're holding off on buying because of the upcoming Steam Summer Sale?

I'm hoping for The Witcher 2 and Trials Evolution.

Hard Reset. It's been on sale before but at the moment I'm in the mood for a short, quick, good-looking PC shooter.

Rogue Legacy, Prison Architect, Kentucky Route Zero, & Antichamber are all on my wishlist. We'll see if it's worth biting!

I'm more likely to keep an eye on GMG from now on. They can't compete on the scale of sales Steam has during the summer and holidays but on individual games, especially newer ones they are incredible. Years of Steam sales have made it so i have all the big collections and bundles that matter to me and i've been buying games one at a time as they come out or go on sales for the first time since the last 18 or so months.

In any case, not much for me this summer. Maybe Tomb Raider, maybe Fez but otherwise i don't really see anything until later this year.

I don't ever have things on a list its more like I just see something and realize that I want it.

#6 Posted by ArbitraryWater (11423 posts) -

I've bought pretty much everything I've wanted from steam and plenty of stuff I didn't want. I think I'll take it easy this year if I spend any money at all.

CKII: The Old Gods, Borderlands 2 Season Pass and the Tom Clancy collection. I also want to see a deep (at least 50%) cut on Guild Wars 2 at another outlet sometime soon.

#8 Posted by fuzzybunny566 (448 posts) -

My top wants are Dark Souls for under $10, and Blood Dragon and Dust - An Elysian Tail for under $5.

#9 Posted by crusader8463 (14412 posts) -

Nothing really comes to mind. A bunch of smaller indie games I guess. Stuff that looks neat, but that the $10-$15 price tag just seems to be too much.

half life 3

#11 Posted by Strife777 (1490 posts) -

I'm actually somewhat interested in getting Dark Souls. Might get that for cheap.

#12 Posted by Irvandus (2777 posts) -

Mars: War Logs. That game looks like it's held together by duct tape but it's interesting enough to be worth purchasing for a lower price.

#13 Posted by JJWeatherman (14557 posts) -

I'm hoping for there to finally be a steep cut in DmC's price. Other than that, I've got a whole long wishlist of things that I'll be keeping an eye on.

Rouge Legacy

Surgeon Simulator

No Time To Explain

Borderlands 2 with all dlc (have the main game for ps3 but if it goes 20 or 30 ill buy it again)

and other smaller indie games

#15 Posted by Chop (1992 posts) -

@strife777: It's only ten bucks on gamersgate if you don't want to wait for steam =/

#16 Edited by Butano (1728 posts) -

CKII: The Old Gods, Mars: War Logs, Company of Heroes 2 (probably won't happen, though I might pick it up if GMG gets a 25% off coupon), and Deadpool.

Plus whatever other games are so cheap that I would lose money not buying them.

#17 Posted by Devil240Z (3251 posts) -

anything with trading cards...

#18 Posted by ajamafalous (11815 posts) -

Nothing big, but there are a lot of smaller $10-20 games that I'm looking to save money on before I buy them.

#19 Posted by lordgodalming (164 posts) -

Dust An Elysian Tale looks fantastic. Otherwise, I'm holding out for the Steam version of Castlevania Lords of Shadow in August.

#20 Posted by BillyTheKid (484 posts) -

Borderlands 2

I will probably buy the Valve Collection, cause it will be on sale.

#21 Posted by CornBREDX (4755 posts) -

I have so many games on my wish list I want to go on sale before I can buy them. To many to list, really, but there's a bunch.

#22 Posted by Fearbeard (823 posts) -

I have so many Steam games from past sales I can't even think of what I want until I see the deals. Maybe a deal on Prison Architect but it's weird to see games still in Alpha go on sale.

For those saying Borderlands 2 just a heads up that Amazon has a pretty good deal on it right now. They all come with Steam keys as well.

Basically Borderlands 1 GOTY edition, Borderlands 2, Borderlands 2 season pass for $22 total. The extra character classes aren't included but they are on sale for $5 each also.

#23 Edited by ahgunsillyo (443 posts) -

X-COM: Enemy Unknown and FEZ. Maybe Far Cry 3 and Antichamber as well.

#24 Edited by Whitestripes09 (397 posts) -

Skyrim DLC and Black Ops 2 (please dont judge...)

#25 Edited by BeachThunder (11649 posts) -
  • DmC
  • Remember Me
  • Far Cry 3
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
  • Antichamber
  • Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
  • Papo & Yo
  • Rogue Legacy
  • Runner 2
  • The Bridge
  • Gunpoint
  • Sword of the Stars: The Pit
  • Afterfall Insanity
  • Fez
#26 Edited by Tordah (2469 posts) -

Too many to list them all, but some of the games I'm most looking forward to picking up are Torchlight 2, Mark of the Ninja, Renegade Ops, X-Com: Enemy Unknown & Trials Evolution Gold.

#27 Edited by TopSteer (634 posts) -

The past couple of Steam sales I've bought pretty much everything I've wanted that's on Steam, the Game of Thrones rpg is the only thing I can think of that I want to go on sale. There's a couple of indie games also but they are cheap enough that I can buy them whenever.

Edit: I've thought of something, Borderlands 2 DLC, I haven't bought any of it yet and I have been meaning to get back into that game.

#28 Edited by Hunter5024 (5511 posts) -

I can't play any steam games until my computer is fixed, which will take weeks, and I can't buy anything until my job situation is resolved. So I hope NOTHING goes on sale, because if I can't enjoy it then no one can.

#29 Posted by TruthTellah (8420 posts) -

Barring that... sales on DmC, The Swapper, Gunpoint, Night of the Rabbit, Runner 2, Rogue Legacy, Antichamber, Kentucky Route Zero, From Dust, Fractal, Homefront, Chaos on Deponia, Ys I, and Dyad.

#30 Posted by I_smell (3925 posts) -

I'm hoping No Time To Explain goes on sale, cos yo... that'd probably work out pretty nice.

#31 Posted by RadecAU (91 posts) -

Kentucky Route Zero, Rogue Legacy, Spec Ops: The Line and Prison Architect.

What sort of say do you have in that?

#33 Posted by SMTDante89 (2541 posts) -

Adventures of Van Helsing is the big one for me, but if I see something I'd like and it's cheap enough, then I might pick something else up as well.

#34 Edited by c0l0nelp0c0rn1 (1799 posts) -

Dead Rising 2, Dust: An Elysian Tale, FEZ, Metro: Last Light, Resident Evil (franchise), Zeno Clash II, Kentucky Route Zero, Monaco, and Skulls of the Shogun.

I will probably end up impulse buying some daily deals.

Borderlands 2

#36 Posted by Wuddel (2078 posts) -

It's Tomb Raider for me and I think the last Skyrim DLC. Prison Architect is not even out, its Early Access thats why it is so expensive. @radecau

#37 Posted by TheHT (10810 posts) -

I was hoping for Borderlands 2, but I looked at some gameplay today and realized I probably won't like Borderlands 2 after not liking Borderlands 1.

So right now it's:

  • Dishonored
  • Hitman Absolution
  • Magrunner
  • Zeno Clash 2
  • Kentucky Route Zero
  • Gemini Rue
  • DmC
  • Primordia
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Call of Juarez Gunslinger
  • Game of Thrones
  • Super House of Dead Ninjas
  • Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe
  • Skyrim DLC
  • Tomb Raider
  • Far Cry 3
  • The Incredible Adventures of Van Hellsing
  • Force Unleashed
  • The Swapper
  • Monaco
  • Anti-Chamber

That's it so far. I don't expect to get those all, but it's what I'm interested in.

Maybe, maybe Black Ops 1 and 2, but only if I can get em both for real cheap as I only really play the single-player in those games.

Get Fez on sale

buy Hotline Miami full price

If Gunpoint is like $3 I'll probably get it.

#39 Posted by EarlessShrimp (1631 posts) -

I'll probably cherry-pick a few from my wish-list or more if they're cheap enough.

#40 Posted by TheSmashing (313 posts) -

Skyrim DLC Dragonborn

Hitman: Absolution

#41 Posted by supamon (1333 posts) -

@truthtellah: Dang you beat me to it. I came in here to say just that!

#42 Edited by Capum15 (4792 posts) -

All of it.

Kerbal Space Program would be fun; StarForge seems cool. Got a bunch of things on my steam wishlist so those.

90% of Steam Sales for me are just browsing each day for the daily and seeing if something interests me. 10% is waiting for something specific.

#43 Posted by MildMolasses (3213 posts) -

I'm mostly interested in the SE/Eidos stuff (Hitman, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider) that I played on 360 but would really like to see running on my PC.

I can set the maximum sale price of the game in Steam at any time, but I don't know how they decide who is in the sale.

We've been notified on the date of the sale in advance, and we plan to organize a gameplay update at the same time. We're relying on the trend of games getting a promotion boost and sales spike on Steam when they update with new content, so we'll make the most of the sale.

#45 Posted by Glottery (1101 posts) -

Will probably just browse through offers and see if something interests me, but if I'd have to specify something, perhaps Blood Dragon. Could also consider a package containing both that and FC3, if only to see the original game running well on a PC, after that struggling PS3-version.

#46 Posted by BeachThunder (11649 posts) -

@i_smell: So, um, when are you planning on releasing this update? :P

#47 Edited by Nubikal (100 posts) -

Some Dota 2 cosmetic bundles would be nice.

As for actual games:

  • Super Puzzle Platformer
  • Monaco
  • Fez
  • Don't Starve

Oh fuck, I didn't even think of Dota 2 items. Does that sort of stuff typically go on sale during these events?
