Because they seem like a horrible scam seeing how they don't actually come with ice cream:

So yeah the deal is you sped about $3 for six chocolate flavored taco shells, with sprinkles, and chocolate sauce included, but you have to add in your own ice cream. It's the same deal for the "dessert nachos," in that they come with the chips and cinnamon flavored sauce, but no ice cream. Also I just want to go on record and say that I think those chocolate shells looks hideous, and unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures of the dessert nachos.

Oh and I should say that these aren't being sold in Taco Bell. Instead they are being sold at discount retail stores like Walmart and Target. Seeing how I don't really spend that much time in those sorts of stores I'm wondering if anyone has seen or tried these. Is this the next Oreo Dessert Pizza?

That Oreo Dessert Pizza is one of my guilty pleasures. Yes, I am a terrible person.

Dessert pizza is fantastic but a dessert taco? No.

I'm not in favor of those kits or Oreo Pizza, but I'd fully support Taco Bell bringing back the Choco Taco to their menu.

Chocolate sauce... Why does that sound so weird?

You know what? I feel the same way about Burger King's bacon milkshake...so yeah, I understand completely.

Who in their right mind buys that kind of shit?

#8 Posted by spraynardtatum (4038 posts) -

They don't even include the ice cream? Luckily I always carry a pint of vanilla ice cream with me where ever I go.

#9 Posted by flippyandnod (498 posts) -

How do you get the ice cream in without breaking the shells? You'd have to own a soft serve machine.

It's a personal policy of mine never to eat anything with the word "kit" in it.

#11 Posted by CatsAkimbo (689 posts) -

I'm not sure how you would get ice cream inside the shell without breaking it, unless you really melted the ice cream -- and who wants melted ice cream?

#12 Posted by chiablo (1032 posts) -

Why not just buy a box of Choco Tacos?

So no Skittles?

I could see picking it up for a last minute party item but its seem better to just buy the stuff yourself if you want that.

I.....would eat cinnamon nachos. Does Taco Bell still sell those cinatwists outside of kids' meals? Haven't seen them lately.

The dessert taco market has already been cornered. How do you improve perfect?

See, if you just said falafel kit, I'd be on board. But what in the holy hell is a dessert falafel?!

Replace chick peas with chocolate chips and spices with sugar and vanilla when you're making the balls? I dunno, yer the captain I assumed you'd know.

I might have to voluntarily give up my rank and simply be Lieutenant Felafel from here on out because that sounds fantastic.

I'd love to know what Jeff thinks about all this.

#31 Posted by e30bmw (373 posts) -

I don't see how that's a scam? Pretty clearly states that it doesn't come with ice cream.

Will it still make me shit all kinds of horror after? If not that's not the Taco Bell I know.

#36 Posted by Hailinel (25787 posts) -

It's Taco Bell's test to see how much you truly hate yourself. The less your sense of self-worth, the more likely you are to buy ice cream specifically for the purpose of filling those stupid taco shells.

#37 Posted by Jeff (5282 posts) -

Something about this seems... wrong, somehow. You should try filling one with taco meat just to see how that goes.
