TrackMania 2 Stadium Server

Yep, it happens. I wish I could control it, but there's nothing I can really do to keep people interested. New tracks/songs barely raise the needle.

The Mania has a life span of about 2-3 weeks, and it comes and goes every year or so.

I'm going to keep the server up as long as possible, until it's totally dead again. Except for August 6th, when my VPS is going down for a couple hours for maintenance.

Server's back up for the holidays (or until everyone gets bored again)!

But how can you get bored when Star Wars_Metallica: For Whom The Force Tolls is now available?!

Thanks for bringing the server back. Looks like there isn't much of a active population on the server though. Over the last 24 hours the server peaked at 12 players.

@szlifier: you should probably specify that there's a free multiplayer demo on steam, since the full version costs $9,99/9,99€/£7,99.

I'll put up an announcement on the Giant Bomb Steam Group, see if that attracts many people back to it.

Thanks for posting about the server, @mattyftm and @szlifier! We peaked at 20 players today.

It's not the constant 50+ we had back in July, but given the timing, I'm not surprised. The holidays weren't particularly busy last year, either.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help keep things going (new tracks, music, maybe a revival of the Christmania event?)

@karsh: having a christmas themed event would be nice, some new tracks would be cool too.

ALSO! New tracks tonight! And I may finally make good on my promise of removing some low-karma tracks.

Maaaaan, I still wish I had access to my PC. I played on this server for hours every day last summer, some really good memories of that. Keep it up Karsh, thanks for reviving the server every so often. I hope I'll get another opportunity to play on it with other people in the future.

Just played about an hour, it's as silly and great as I thought it'd be from watching Jeff play all those times. Glad I finally decided to grab this, and thanks for putting the server back up, @karsh!

The sequel to Star Wars Metallica is delightful, the plot grabbed me immediately but it was the characterization that really made me stay. Excited for where the series goes next.

@jhudson3: I considered that, but is there an official(-ish) Giant Bomb Discord we could use instead? I don't think there's enough activity to warrant its own server.
