    The Futuristic Game Show is plot device used by a handful of video games, setting the player in the role of a contestant on a high-stakes televised competition. The games that do this often take inspiration from The Running Man.

    Originally released as a book by Stephen King, the games are more likely to take inspiration from the 1987 film based on the book, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the show's contestant.
