NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Anywho... I really don't like Green Day.
Its DLC for Rockband 2 not a new game
edit:
Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong give us the reasoning behind the band's song choices for the band's "Rock Band" DLC pack. (7.8.09)
edit: oh wait a sec... ehhh don(t want to go after this
" Its DLC for Rockband 2 not a new gameIt's a new game dude. It was announced at the VGA awards sneak peak thingy.

Notice that vdeo is for a video dating back to July 8th, 2009, which is actually about the first DLC pack (the one with Know Your Enemy, 27 Guns, and East Jesus Nowhere)." Its DLC for Rockband 2 not a new game

The one dated today on the MTV site is different, though. As DanielJW said, it does say "Green Day: Rock Band" at the end. This could be a video of a game that's more or less an expansion for RB2 (with full exportability), but it doesn't really look like it at this point. We'll know more after the VGAs.
Im a huge fan of Green Day and I can honestly say that this is a suprise, I know there was talk about this earlier but I never thought that they wouldnt do it
I mean, I even really like their new album which everyone else seems to hate
However it is a nice suprise, a Green Day: Rock Band could be great and, if well done, I would buy
" Don't really see a problem with it. I'm still waiting for a Toadies Rockband though. "Yeah, THERE'S a band with widespread influence and an album collection that is renowned worldwide...
" Unlike Beatles I could really see them letting you roll this music into rock band 2, if that's the case its a must buy for sure, if not it's in the maybe pile. "Yeah, that's where my interest lies at the moment. If it has full exportability ala Lego Rock Band, I think this will be an instant buy for many-a-fan. Of course, it won't be for everyone that keeps up with Rock Band, but I think 40-45 Green Day songs would not only give us every last bit of Green Day we'd ever need, we'd instantly up the 'anthem' column for anyone having a party around Rock Band.
Green Day, how you used to be awesome. Then Warning came out, and you haven't made a good album since. Still one of the most famous bands from here in the East Bay. This still could be just more expensive DLC.
If the game or DLC or whatever this turns out to be includes Jesus of Suburbia, I will buy it. It's just that simple.
Green Mayday? Seriously? You can honestly tell me that nothing better was lurking at the bottom of the "save the good shit for a better economy" barrel?
Dear Harmonix: Go fuck yourself.
No one has permission to say Rock Band isn't whored out anymore.

If I'm the collective group of people with vested interest in the Beatles franchise, I'd be pissed, or worse yet, seriously considering litigation.
Course, I am not among those varied individuals, much less among the legally savvy, so it's merely wishful thinking on my part that the Beatles people whom Harmonix had to beg and plead to sign off on TB:RB hit these Activision-rejects where it hurts (i.e. the wallet) for daring to suggest that any other group, much less these hacks, may grace store shelves with its OWN similarly-colonized RB title.
Also, to play devil's advocate...will there be people hovering over Harmonix' dudes picking similar nits as the wind in Lennon's hair? Suppose they feel that these idiots aren't wearing enough black eyeliner?

"Oh, stuff it. If you don't want it, don't buy it. I have little interest in a Green Day-themed Rock Band game myself, but I'm not going to be a jackass about it.
" When Activision does it, it's milking it when Harmonix does it, it's ok. lol "The key difference in attitudes is that Harmonix has shown a willingness to care about how the artists that appear in game are treated. Activision couldn't give a rat's ass and is perfectly happy making Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash look like idiots.

Fuck, I hope it's not a full game. Otherwise it seems like Rock Band is starting to take the direction Guitar Hero is taking.

There's been Rock Band, Rock Band 2, Beatles Rock Band and now Green Day Rock Band.
There's been Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero 4, Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Guitar Hero Metallica, Guitar Hero Van Halen, Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, DJ Hero, and Band Hero.
Compare and contrast.
