I was thinking about buying Halo ODST but my friends told me that it was just halo 3 with a new 6 hour story line and for me i personally did not like halo 3 story mode i found it to be boring.
Halo 3: ODST
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Sep 22, 2009
Taking place during the events of Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST puts players in the shoes of a silent Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (known as the Rookie) as he traverses through the Covenant-occupied metropolis of New Mombasa to find the whereabouts of his missing squadmates.
Who's not buying ODST
I might when it comes down in price. not for the story but Firefight. Played it at a mates it is both tight and sweet.
" Firefight would have made me buy it day one but since its not part of the matchmaking system, it seems kinda flawed I mean most of my real friends don't have an xbox so I go out drinking with them, the friends of my xbox vary so much it just wouldn't work. "I don't think a matchmaking system for it would have worked. The mode heavily relies on teamwork, being thrown into a game with a bunch of random people would have been disaster. Perhaps they should have included the option anyway, but it just would have been disastrous.
A lot of people bash the game, but the campaign is very good, easily as long as a typical FPS and more enjoyable than the past few Halo games, it's just much more engaging and the exploration aspect really works for it. Firefight is great fun and adds great length to the game and the multiplayer is as solid as ever. Yes, it's essentially nothing more than an expansion pack for Halo 3, but I for one am glad to see more single player features added, rather than just stuff for multiplayer for once.
I wasn't going to get it, but that firefight mode sure makes it tempting. I played it at my local best buy and was kinda blown away by the epic amount of action that can occur during firefight.
I haven't bothered to buy it yet. I was thinking about getting Halo Wars since I haven't got that either & it ought to be cheaper now.
Nah, I'm skipping on this for several reasons:
1. It won't be much different than Halo 3. It sucked balls; no gore, dismemberment and lacked a variety of weapons. Didn't have that "gritty" feel to it. e.g, the terrain and characters feel and look too clean and holy-like.
2. Too expensive.
3. Still on Microsoft's payroll.
4. No longer own a 360.
