Halo: Reach
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Sep 14, 2010
A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, chronicling one of the most cataclysmic events of the Halo Universe through the eyes of a squad of Spartan super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It is also the last game in the series developed by Bungie.
Should Reach have an AR granade launcher for those who pre-order?
Say that if you were to pre-order the game that you would get a code that would give you a secondary granade launcher attachment on the bottom of the Reach AR. You could use it in the campaign and multiplayer which would give alot more reason to pre-order for an exclusive weapon instead of an armor reskin like in ODST. Do you agree with me?
No, that would be incredibly stupid. No one should ever have advantages in multiplayer because they pre-ordered a game. That is a good way to ruin the experience for a lot of people.
So you are asking whether or not it is a good idea to give people a weapon that they can't normally get if they don't preorder the game? No. Also where are you hearing about this because you say this is hypothetical yet act like it's been announced.
"Wait, what? You have to pay $10 extra when pre-ordering? Something sounds wrong here... Reskins are the only things they really ever give for preorders, cause anything else would usually cause an imbalance in multiplayer. "
That's what it costed me, I had to pay an extra $10 to pre-order.

The ideal pre-order bonus is one that is either token (like a piece of armor or a multiplayer skin) or not connected to the game at all (i.e. Those who pre-ordered Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts got Banjo Kazooie for Xbox live arcade free and two weeks early as well).

I wouldn't have been able to have gotten it at launch if I didn't.

Wow it cost me 5 and it go's toward the game.
that's the most retarded thing i've ever heard of.
1. noob tubes are stupid and too powerful
2. giving anyone an advantage in Halo multiplayer is retarded because in Halo everyone starts out on a level playing field. This isn't CoD where people can start with different weapons that have different strengths. Giving a clear advantage to people who preorder has to be one of the most retarded things i've ever seen written on the internet.
I don't know where you are pre-ordering from, but that isn't how it is supposed to work. You never pay extra. You simply put $5 or $10 down towards the total cost, and then pay the difference when you pick up the game.
You are being ripped off.

So should I sue EB games?
No. No pre-order bonus for reach. Reach shouldn't have a grenade launcher either, just a rocket launcher.
Hate it.
I don't particularly like pre-ordering so I generally hate anything that makes me feel like I should.
Absolutely not. Giving in-game perks to people who pre-order games is a horrible trend that needs to stop immediately.
No, that's insane. Pre-orders should never give competitive advantages to certain players in my eyes.
I hate pre-order bonuses which change the game in any non-aesthetic way and there are few ways you could make it any worse than giving those who pre-ordered the game a highly powerful attachment to the base weapon of the game. I do not want a game which turns around and says to me "because you weren't able to pre-order, you are being punished by getting owned by every guy in the game who did pre-order". No offense to you personally but this is one of the worst ideas for additions to a game I've ever heard.
"No, that's insane. Pre-orders should never give competitive advantages to certain players in my eyes. You know what else is insane? Wanting Halo to include a noob tube. Why would you want this? I don't even- "
I had to pay 10 extra dollars at my store to pre-order so I want to get more of my moneys worth.
" @K0rN said:" Don't you want to get your money's worth out of pre-ordering? I felt kinda ripped off with the Johnson pre-order for ODST because it wasn't anything different. "Oh, dear me. The intelligence level of some of the people here... "
Hey if I pay an extra $10 to pre-order, I want something more then a reskin.
If I had no intention of actually playing the game it would be fun the see the EPIC shit storm this idea would create. But no. This idea is bad and you should feel bad.
No No No No NO NO NO NO NOO NOO NOOO NOOO NOOO NOOOO NOOOO NOOOOO
WTF is wrong with you? How is that in any way fair? Oh great just because I didn't preorder the game you get to run around with a fucking grenade launcher on your weapon and I can't, No sir No thank you, I am all for stuff like the Cerberus Network to get people to buy the game new but that is a single player game, if you wanna offer a bunch of skins or stuff that really doesn't mean to much that is fine, but NOTHING that affects gameplay. Long cat does not approve...

"no thats ridiculous IMO. maybe if they made it unlockable for everyone thats understandable but this is halo that sort of thing just doesnt happen. if there was something to come out of a preorder it would be either different character armor, emblems, or maps.
