Seriously...I played the demo, and my god the lip syncing looks great.
What did everybody think of the demo by the way?
Heavy Rain
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Jan 25, 2010
An interactive thriller from the studio behind Indigo Prophecy, sporting a dark storyline involving the investigation of a mysterious serial killer.
Lip syncing is the best I've seen in a video game.
I continue to be intrigued by the game, but I'm still not sure it's worth buying because of the lack of any real replay value (I have gamefly, by the way). On the other hand, I may buy it just to support Quantic Dream and Sony's willingness to take risks, although I doubt the game will pull-even either way.

" No... Vinchenzo... you have the best lip synching. :} "no you have the best lip synching

For people in North America, this is the site:

There are multiple branching storylines?
" @jukezypoo said:I was listening to an interview with the head of Quantic Dream, I can't remember his name it was a French name, and he was saying how he doesn't want people to think of this game as one to replay because he wants it to be like life - you do it once, and stick with the decisions you made and thats it. He said that that's where the best experience will be had. I think it had to do something with how the storylines aren't as "branching" as we think and that you'd have to go through a lot of the same stuff, only to come back to another scene you recognize. I know for myself that I didn't want to replay Indigo Prophecy to see the other parts of the game because of that reason... I didn't want to go through all that stuff I've already seen. On top of that, Heavy Rain doesn't really have any gameplay to come back to, just button pressing. But this game does have multiple characters, I'm wondering just how different each one is. I'm hoping it's not just a different perspective of the same story, because that would be kind of lame." I will try to find that interview.

On the other hand, I'm not playing this game purely for the story, I'm playing it for my interaction with the story. If I finish the game and go back, the story could well be entirely different (although I'm not 100% sold on this either, since I doubt the possibilities are as endless as they've been made to seem), but my interaction with the story will be nearly identical.
If I was looking for something to enjoy purely based on the story, I wouldn't need Heavy Rain; The Idiot more than fills that void.
Just because he said that doesn't mean that's the way you have to play it." @xyzygy said:

EDIT: And for the billionth time, it's not just "button pressing", xyzygy.
" Yeah, the game looks amazing and seems to have a really interesting atmosphere and tone. The one thing that worries me is the voice acting. It seems incredibly wooden to me. I haven't heard a ton of people talking about it though, so maybe I'm just crazy. "I agree, the voice acting isn't that great.
