While it's a bummer that you won't be an officially-on-the-payroll duder, it's good to know we'll still be able to sample your Daveness in the future. I'm also stoked for you that you get such a good chance to hang out with your lil lass and join Vinny in the ranks of the Cool Dad Brigade.

And hooray for Rorie! One got the feeling it was only a matter of time before you guys managed to swing it so he was able to return to the fold.

This is indeed simultaneously the best and worst Giant Bomb-related news in quite some time. Thank you, Dave (and Alexis) for building the best gaming website on the internet. Candor is the perfect way to describe Dave's personality. I loved watching/hearing the radio broadcasts, and his updates on the site. I loved random PC games and flight club. And I loved his insights. Woulda loved to somehow get to a PAX to meet Dave.

Gonna miss you lots, duder.

And if there was ANYONE else I would want to replace Dave, it'd be Rorie. This is exciting and heartbreaking at the same time.

I'm really sad to see you go, Dave. I hope you come back fairly infrequently for random content here and there. It's really scary to think of a future for Giant Bomb without you. Take care of that beautiful kid!

I hope there's more of an announcement of this than just a blog, though. There really needs to be a video of this with Jeff and Rorie and others talking about this and talk about the broader consequences of all the changes. Another year, another big change for Giant Bomb.

the professional and responsive way you handled the issue I brought up 18 months ago, was the deciding factor in getting to me to subscribe to the website for the year that I could, that remains the only time I've ever subscribed to an internet site.
