    Overview

Joey LaRocca is the main protagonist of The Sopranos: Road to Respect. He is the illegitimate son of Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero, who is taken in as a petty criminal into the DiMeo crime family by Tony Soprano.

As with many of the characters in the licensed game, Joey LaRocca does not make an official appearance in The Sopranos TV series and is never mentioned outside of the game.

Joey LaRocca is portrayed by Christian Maelen, who was second choice to play Christopher Moltisanti in the run-up to the show's casting.

    Story

Outside of Satriale's Pork Store, Tony Soprano spots Joey stealing a purse from an empty car. Tony quickly takes him inside and berates him for the stunt, bringing up how disappointed Big Pussy would be. He then offers to find some work for Joey in the meantime.

Sometime later, Joey becomes a soldier in the DiMeo crime family - working under Paulie Gualtieri's crew. As Joey collects sandwich orders from Tony & his crew, Paulie is provoked by a man who believes he overheard Tony Soprano in the club. Later on, Paulie fights the man in the bathroom and tells Joey to join in. Joey seemingly kills the man, which angers Paulie who tells him to clean it up with his friend Reggie without any problems.

    Down at the Docks

Joey and Reggie stuff the body in the trunk of a car and drive to the docks to dispose of the corpse. Reggie is willing to help Joey out in order to gain recognition from Tony Soprano. They both loot the man's corpse and find some cash and a watch engraved with "To Mario, Love Angie" which Reggie takes with him. As the pair look for some chains to weigh the body down, they return to find the body missing and it is soon revealed that Mario is still alive. Joey shoots him dead and they eventually throw the body over the ocean. As Joey looks into the water, he sees a visage of his dead father who offers some wisdom.

    Nighthorse Casino

Meanwhile, Joey and Reggie head for the Nighthorse casino. The watch ends up missing and turns up stolen by one of the prostitutes. Joey fights his way through to the penthouse and threatens the prostitute to give the watch back.

    Saul's Gym

Sometime later, Joey and Christopher Moltisanti head over to racket a gym because the owner has a side-business selling steroids and Christopher wants in on the action. They briefly meet up with A.J. Soprano in his SUV before he leaves.

It is soon revealed that Mario, the guy who Joey and Reggie were involved with killing, was a relative of Philadelphia mob boss Angelo (or Angie), who is out for blood once word comes out that Reggie has Mario's watch.

    Chasing Reggie

After it becomes known that Reggie is wearing a dead man's watch, Joey heads to his friend's apartment and intends to kill him. They both fight and give chase through the apartment, and Reggie's roommates defend him as he flees for the rooftops. At this time, hitman Tuzzio hired by Angelo arrives to kill both Reggie and Joey. After some more chasing, Reggie is cornered and begs for his life. Joey can either choose to kill him or spare him, either option results in Reggie's death and Joey chasing Tuzzio through the rooftops. Tuzzio falls down a flight of stairs to the ground and is presumed dead.

    A.J.'s Rave

During Hesh's nephew's Bar Mitzvah at Vesuvio's, A.J. offers Joey to work security at his upcoming rave party.

    Getting Made

Sometime after killing Angelo Buscetta, Joey is invited to Satriale's Pork Store in order to get officially made into the family. Before heading into the office, Joey sees one last vision of Big Pussy who congratulates his son and explains he is not bitter that Joey is working for the same men that killed him. After taking the oath and swearing by the omerta, Joey is warmly embraced by Tony, Paulie, Silvio and Vito as the game ends.

    Aftermath

It is unknown what happens to Joey after the events of the game, since he is never mentioned in the TV show. Presumably, Joey may have been killed during the rival war with the Lupertazzis or went into hiding indefinitely.

    Trivia

    • If the player loses all their respect in a mission, a cutscene will play which shows Joey getting whacked on a boat by Paulie and Tony, in a similar fashion to how Big Pussy was killed. This constitutes in mission failure.
    • During an optional conversation with Silvio and Vito about movies, Joey says that he is "more of a gamer".
