    A gang isn't just two crude dudes, it's a whole mess of them. There's all kinds of different gangs represented in games: street gangs, organized criminals, and even high school cliques.

    Gangs are generally described as being groups. However, in games for the most part, gangs are based around the concept of illegal activities. Many gangs in games have different initiations. Below is an incomplete list of all the gangs in games:

    Bully

    Note: the gangs in both the original Bully (also known as Canis Canem Edit) and the 360 and Wii launch, Bully: Scholarship Edition, remain the same.

    Bullies

    Information:

    The Bullies are a large clique of mixed race, that are united under one cause: to make the lives of others a misery. All Bullies wear jeans with untucked white shirts. Their leader is Russell, a hulking presence around the school.

    Preppies

    Information:

    The Preppies are rich kids. They are into boxing, and meet at a boxing club in Bullworth Town. All of the Preppies wear expensive Aquaberry uniforms, and treat anything other than the most expensive of goods as unworthy. Additionally, they all have expensive haircuts, such as the 'Ivy League'.

    Nerds

    Information:

    The Nerds are the most intelligent gang in Bullworth Academy. They frequently create new weapons to use against their enemies, which are unfortunately, most of the school. All of the Nerds wear green tops as part of their uniform. These tops are available to the player in the main building, and are called 'Astronomy Club tops'. The Nerds can take the least damage of any enemies in the game.

    Grand Theft Auto 2

    Russian Mafia

    Information:

    The Russian Mafia are a group operated by Russian immigrants, and headed by Jerkov. The group specialize in gun running, arms dealing, and contract killing. They drive vehicles called Bulwarks, and have their own radio station called 'KGBH'.

    Information:

    The Zaibatsu Corporation are a mysterious group who are more commonly compared to an army than a criminal organization. The members of the gang drive Z-Type cars, and mask themselves behind the veil of a pharmaceutical organization in order to disguise their real line of work. The group refer to Claude Speed as 'Gecko', and are the only gang in the game that are present across all three districts of the city. Due to this fact it is suggested that they are the strongest gang in the game, with enough force to rival the police.

    Information:

    The Ballas are the largest gang in San Andreas, and wear purple. They drive around in Majestics, and Tahomas. Generally the Ballas are armed with TEC-9s and Micro Uzis. However, in the gang war segment of the game it is not unusual for the Ballas to be wielding AK-47s and MP5s.

    Da Nang Boys

    Information:

    The Da Nang Boys are a Vietnamese gang that are responsible for harassing Woozie's Triad gang. T hey attempt to assassinate the leader of a fellow Triad gang, and also attacked the Blood Feather Triad. They drive Tampas, but mainly travel on-foot owing to the small size of their territory.

    Information:

    The Mountain Cloud Boys are Woozie's gang, and are friendly with the Grove Street Families. Generally they wear black suits, and travel in Japanese influenced cars such as the Elegy and Sultan. These vehicles are high performance. During the mission 'Mountain Cloud Boys', you will notice that Woozie travels in a Sentinel. Whether this is a Da Nang car or simply Woozie's car is not clear.

    Information:

    The Grove Street Families are the player's gang, and wear green exclusively. The Grove Families are an alliance of several groups into one larger alliance. The Grove Street Families drive around in Savannas, and Tahomas in particular. They also drive Voodoos, amongst other cars.

    Information:

    The Bushido, as their name would suggest, are a Japanese gang operating in Need for Speed: Carbon. The gang is headed by Kenji, and their signature color is green. All of the gang drivers encountered have green cars, and are focused more on handling than top speed. Kenji drives a green Mazda RX-7, and Yumi can be recruited from his gang as a Scouter up on their completion. Selecting a Muscle car initially will make the Bushido the first gang you encounter.

    Stacked Deck

    Information:

    Stacked Deck are the largest crew in Carbon by a considerable margin, and they are controlled by Darius. Unlike all of the other crews in the game, Darius' doesn't have a weakness. They do not rely on one particular group of cars, and use Tuners, Muscle Cars, and Exotics in equal measure. In addition, while the other groups occasionally lose small amounts of territory to minor groups, such as the Black Hearts or Rotor4, Stacked Deck do not. For an illegal racing group they have their area locked down in an manner more akin to a military. Darius himself drives an Audi Le Mans Quattro (now known as the R8).

    Information:

    The TFK are a predominantly Caucasian gang operating in Palmont City. Headed by Wolf, the TFK deviate towards expensive exotica and supercars. Wolf himself drives a modified Aston Martin DB9. The TFK is somewhat restricted due to the relatively small number of exotic cars available earlier in the game, though they become more difficult later, when Tier 2 and 3 cars become available.

    Saints Row

    Information:

    The Westside Rollerz are a mixed gang of Asians and Caucasians. Coming from the suburbs, they drive upgraded cars. They dabble in illegal street racing and grand theft auto. Unfortunately, their automotive stable contains such horrors as the Mockingbird and Zimos. Both of which are low performance cars that cannot take much damage. William Sharp is the financer and Donnie is one of their mechanic. Lin is also working undercover in this gang.

    Vice Kings

    • Color: Yellow
    • Turf: Projects, Stilwater

    Information:

    The Vice Kings, or VKs for short, were started by Ben King in an attempt to slow down the advancement of Los Carnales. They are in control of sin crimes, such prostitution, pornography, and gambling. The Vice Kings normally use Vice 9 pistols. Some of them use NR4s, but generally, their weapons are not up to par. They drive around in Comptons and Capshaws mainly, although King himself owns a Mag. In addition to Ben King, the gang's named members are:

    Los Carnales

    • Ethnicity: Hispanic (mainly Colombian and Dominican)
    • Leader: Angelo and Hector Lopez
    • Color: Red
    • Turf: Industrial and Barrio, Stilwater

    Information:

    Los Carnales are a mixed ethnicity gang, although are mainly Latino. The Carnales are known to be the toughest gang in the game, owing to the fact that they use sawn-off shotguns, automatic rifles and sub machine guns more than pistols. Their crime trade is drug dealing and arms dealing. In addition, they drive large trucks and pick-ups, like La Fuerza. As well as Angel and Hector calling the shots in the gang, below are the lieutenants and named members / associates:

    3rd Street Saints

    Information:

    The 3rd Street Saints are a multiracial gang formed by Julius Little, and are the player's gang. The Saints are responsible for fighting against all the other gangs. The Saints use a mixture of weapons, that changes as the player progresses through the game. To begin with, most members wield pistols, but as you progress you'll notice they are using better and better weapons, such as the AK-47. The Saints cars change to reflect this as well. After completion the Saints will drive Bulldogs. The gang is built up of several different lieutenants, and they are:

    Information:

    The Sons of Samedi are a drug dealing gang headed by the General. They drive around in green Stilettos and Churchills mainly. However, the General travels in a unique limo, and later a Bulldog. The gang name is based from the vodun lord of the dead Samedi. The gang lieutenants are DJ Veteran Child and Mr. Sunshine.

    The Brotherhood of Stilwater

    Information:

    The Brotherhood is a trucker gang focusing on muscle and brawn. Their primary crime trade is arms dealing. The Brotherhood drive around in large trucks, like the Swindle and the Compensator. The gang lieutenants are Jessica and Matt, a member of the Feed Dogs band. Donnie, a former Westside Roller, is the gang's chief mechanic.

    Ronin

    Information:

    The Ronin are a biker Yakuza gang, with the American branch headed by

    cocky young gangster Shogo Akuji. They replace the Vice Kings in that they deal in gambling, prostitution, and protection rackets. Shogo's gang drives high performance sports cars, and motorbikes. Their standard sedan is the Wakazashi, and their main melee weapon is a katana. However, their weapons of choice are mainly cheaper firearms, such as the Vice 9. Occasionally they will use AK-47s and Tombstones, however.

    3rd Street Saints

    • Rivals: Ronin, the Brotherhood, Sons of Samedi

    Information:

    The player's gang. The Saints initially start with low powered weapons, such as the Vice 9. However, after reaching certain points in the game they will automatically upgrade. Upon story completion they will begin to use extremely high powered weapons, like the AR-40.

    The Warriors

    The Baseball Furies are a gang that reside around the Riverside Park area. They are always armed with Baseball Bats, and are the most dangerous gang in The Warriors videogame. However, according to the film, they are ineffective fighters without their bats.

    Boppers

    • Turf: West Harlem

    Information:

    The Boppers hail from West Harlem, and are easily distinguished by their incredibly obvious clothing. The group wear all purple, with hats. They are bitter rivals of The Hurricanes, and have the ownership of a strip club to fund their operations. The members of the Boppers speak mainly in jive.

    Gramercy Riffs

    Information:

    The Gramercy Riffs, or Riffs, as they are also known, are the biggest gang in the city. Fiercely disciplined, the Riffs are led by Cyrus. The Riffs intend to merge all the gangs in the city together, and then muscle out both the Mafia, and the Police themselves. Cyrus' death is the main plot of both The Warriors' game, and the actual film itself.

    Lizzies

    Information:

    The Lizzies are an all female gang, and they do not appear to have a uniform. They appear to simply wear jeans and tops. The gang are armed with knives and guns, and are responsible for ambushing Rembrandt, Cochise and Vermin, who are members of the Warriors. The Lizzies lure them back to their flat where they pull guns.

    Orphans

    Information:

    The Orphans are the weakest gang in New York, and are lead by Sully, a cowardly fighter. T he Orphans are built up of no more than 30 members, and they wear green t-shirts with Orphans written on them, as well as blue jeans. The Orphans are considered to be a joke to all the other gangs in the city, and they were not even invited to the meeting with the Gramercy Riffs. Due to this, Sully tries to build the Orphans' reputation through telling a DJ that they successfully beat up The Warriors, which results in revenge from The Warriors.
