Edit: There was talk about JC3 being Free-to-Play. Andrew Reiner of Game Informer has said that is not the case.

Right. Now tell us you hired the guys who made the JC2 MP mod and I'll give you, all of the fucking money.

Why the fuck not? Just Cause 2 with more weapons, more physics objects and better graphics would be the best.

As excited as I am, I always felt like the gunplay in JC2 was kind of junk. Really floaty, felt bizarre to shoot and run without a strafe, the lock on was both loose and too sticky and the guns had no punch to them at all.

The gunplay was always secondary to the batshit physics and traversal stuff, though. Still, I really hope they tighten up the shooting.

I'm really excited for this but.....all I can think about is how stoked Ryan would be.

Now Fallout 4 needs to be announced and all will be right with the world!

They decided that, after development, it would be a hoot to sell it as a product. Y'know, for shits and giggles. Personally, I don't see it working out... I mean, a "video" game? What, like Rap Rat or Star Trek: The Next Generation: Interactive VCR Board Game - A Klingon Challenge? Pshhh... yeah, okay, guys. I'll stick with Monopoly, please and thank you.

I can just imagine Jeff looking at that poster and making his now patented "Ow!" sound.

Yeah... remembering him and Brad's love of the series was one of the first things that popped into my head. Made me sad again.

People forget that Just Cause 2 was fucking awesome and had a huge beautiful world, so glad about this!

Well, the skill involved with JC2MP is hacking a MP mode into a strictly single-player game. It's better to just hope they design the game with stupid open-world MP in mind... or at least make it easier to hack in if they don't want to invest the resources themselves (I suspect this is just gonna be another single-player JC).

It may not be F2P, but I really hope there's no microtransaction bullshit.

Couldn't be more excited about this news. Figured it would have happened at E3 this year, but this works. My guess is Avalanche will release it in February 2015. Just a hunch. SO PUMPED!

After I finished JC2 I reflexively wanted to topple every statue I saw in the real world.

Nice. Just Cause 2 had its share of problems but it was a pretty fun stupid game. I'll play this.

Maybe I should play Just Cause 2 now.

The screens from the Game Informer video look pretty damn good.

@lukeweizer: If developers and publishers could resist the urge to make micro-transactions so in-your-face, and remain totally optional without hurting natural progression through gameplay, I would be fine with them being in every single game.

Unfortunately, we live in reality; so micro-transations will likely be present, constantly in the way, and be a slap in the face to people who want to just play the damn game and get unlocks and progression based on their skill & game activity. Video games!

IIRC it's going to be released around the same time as the movie I believe.
