" As cool as this game looks, it wont sell well. the average gamer cant seem to stay interested in it unless it is full of machine guns or explosives. Gamers just dont seem to be interested in story of innovation. "Portal 2 is doing very well, and that is the antithesis of machine guns and explosions.

L.A. Noire is a detective thriller developed by Team Bondi in Australia and published by Rockstar Games.
It looks Amazing, but it wont sell well.
I agree... initially. I don't think Red Dead sold anywhere near it's potential at launch, but only after critics hype, winning the VGA's Game of the Year and seeing the Undead Nightmare advertising on TV did people pick up on it.
Probably going to be the same case with this as well.
" Also consider that people buy videogames for story once it is found out said videogame has a great story. "
1. "Great story" is one hundred percent subjective. I guess that's why Black Ops is one of the best selling games of all time with one of the worst gameplay mechanics, pacing and a full frontal assault on my skills.
2. Also, proof or shut the fuck up.
Would you like a free lunch for stating the obvious? Videogames are interactive. Movies are not." also for the fact that when a videogame does a story well, it does so in a way better than in any way the movie industry can. "
"Hi, if you don't agree with my opinion, then you're a troll."" Videogame stories will evolve, and the trolls that hate story will die out, that is when videogames will be taken seriously, when all the trolls who hate story finally dies out. "
Videogames need to be awesome and fun videogames before any other-goddamn-thing, above story, above "revolutionary graphics", above movie composers, above famous screenwriters - above all of that periphery bullshit. Vanquish is one of the most incredible games I've played in the best couple of years, and you want to know why? Because the focus of that game is making sure the combat is fun, satsifying, challenging and most of all rewarding.

You don't need to be mean man. Besides, blops didn't sell well because of it's story, but for it's hype of being a new COD game, those games don't count as games at all. although I did hear the story ain't bad from what I have been hearing, but COD4 had the best because that is before they sold their souls.
Also, why should I shut up about the truth of the matter at hand? Videogames with stories are more important than not.
Also, it is true that it is nintendo trolls that mainly say that bullshit about story not being important as well. think of a man for a second, that is the perfect videogame, perfect gameplay and story all in unison, now chop him in half from the waist, the story being legs and the gameplay being the torso, are legs important to a human being? yes, they are. even a child knows this.
Also, fun is important yes, but I consider it equal with story just for the fact that if a game is fun only, it is dumb fun, there is a difference between dumb fun and smart fun. smart fun being games like bioshock or silent hill, or dumb fun being EDF2017 or vanquish. the better one in the usual case is the smart one. but... slightly dumber people don't get this and will troll me instead.
I'm not sure. On one hand it is a Rockstar game but based on comments from a few friends, not having the GTA-like mayhem is a deal breaker. I want to play it for that very reason. That and the whole detective angle have me very intrigued.
