Embargoed reviews, and a release date the Tuesday after E3, is not a confident mixture. Remember, Duke Nukem Forever did the exact same thing last year.

@DrDarkStryfe: Yeah, but in that case, Duke Nukem had history behind it, and it was in their best interest to get sales off of the name before it came out that the game was garbage. In this case, Lollipop Chainsaw isn't exactly a storied franchise, so they don't really stand much to gain from holding back reviews, and releasing post E3.

I'm not expecting perfection, but looking forward to supporting Suda51 as much as I can.

@DrDarkStryfe: Duke Nukem was also a fucking trainwreck of 12 years of mish-mashed ideas, scrapped projects and half-finished work. Lollipop may not set the world on fire but it hasn't been subjected to the development hell that DNF was.

@alternate: If its 4 hours long that just means its easily repayable. There is even a Perma-death mode difficulty mode in the game which should be fun to try. Who cares? Shadows of the Damned was insanely short too. I replayed that thing 4 times and got every achievement.

I hope this game does well, but I think it's going to get raked over the coals when the big offiical reviews come out, due to people's inability to seperate the game from its marketing. Everything about the way this game is being sold thus far feels gross, and it feels like they're spending more time building up that pseudo-image rather than telling people what the game actually is. Sega was doing the same thing with Bayonetta for a while but that game was just stellar and the sexuality wasn't nearly as trumped up as the marketing made it out to be, so it survived the very thing that's supposed to draw people in.

But this game needs a quicklook like whoa, because I've seen this game 3 times in person and still don't know what it's supposed to be.

I'll probably check my blockbuster for it tomorrow.

Shadow of the Damned was nowhere as short if my memory serves me correctly. I remember it being at least 8-10 hours long.

I am sure it happens but if everyone who claimed to have got it that way was telling the truth then the big chain retailers would be in revolt. Usually the posts claiming they have it pop up en masse a few hours after the leak hits the torrent sites.

Well if you look at it that way, the duritation of most games would decrease drastically.

@PhantomGardener: Well, true but the majority of extra time spent with a game is replaying because of failure and or not knowing what to do. So playtimes fluctuate wildly. I'm just saying on an optimal playthrough not even a speed run 4 hours is about the par time.

Fantastic. So I go to Walmart and they misplaced the copies. We had 4 copies and no doubt some fuck tard didn't bother binning in the damn games properly. Going to work with a mission tomorrow and throttling people until they find the goddamn copies.

Haha I don't understand. Having integrity keeps journalists from giving honest reviews? We can only trust those with no integrity. And user reviews are too often either 1 star or 5 stars.. because being a fan of something is more important than honestly accessing a game when integrity isn't in the equation.

@TentPole: I know. Fucking bastards! I was going to order from them but didn't when they raised it back up now my Walmart is missing their copies and the soonest I can get it from Amazon is the 14th for whatever goddamn reason. =(
