Lumberyard is one of the first Team Fortress 2 maps to use the game mode, Arena. It's the first map to use an alpine theme.

Unlike all the other maps in Team Fortress 2, Lumberyard is green and lush with fauna. The two teams spawn at each end of the map with a building between them. The main building has multiple smaller entrances and a big gate on each side and a control point within. At the beginning of the round, the big gates are closed and the control point locked, but opens up if no winner has been found after 60 seconds have passed.

Lumberyard has a single medkit at one end of the map on top of a log above a pit. Falling into the pit leads to death. It is not uncommon for people wanting the medkit to fall to their death.
