MacPlay was orginally founded as sub-division of Interplay to distribute and port their games to the Macintosh platform. Those games included popular titles such as Descent, Castle Wolfenstein or Fallout. In 1997, Interplay decided to quit the Macintosh market and MacPlay ceased to port titles to the Macintosh system. However, due to a resurgence in popularity of the Macintosh system after 2000, the brand was revived under United Developers, LLC who aquired the brandname from Interplay. MacPlay thusforth continued to release and port games on the Macintosh, including titles such as Alien vs. Predator, Baldur's Gate II and Sacrifice. However, the last game to ported to the Macintosh by MacPlay was Tron 2.0 in 2004. Since, MacPlay has focussed on publishing casual games for various platforms and internet sites, such as Bejeweled 2 and Jewel Quest. The MacPlay homepage is as of now a website to play and download casual gaming titles.
