    Overview

Originally founded in 1989, the company then known as "Patch Ventures" went through several name changes before becoming Mad Catz Interactive in 2001. The company has had a prominant role in the rise of video game peripherals, including fighting games. One of its products, the Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition game pad is one of the most popular and widely used portable arcade sticks to date.

In 2011, Mad Catz formed ThunderHawk Studios with the intention of creating a flight-sim MMORPG that they themselves will make flight sticks for.
