One of the most legendary crossover fighting game series is thrown into high gear with a whopping 56-character roster and new three-on-three tag-team gameplay.
What's your Team?
I'm the guy in my group of friends that don't know squat about MvC2, but for some reason lucks the crap out when just mashing buttons during house parties. That team is Jin, Colossus, and a toss up between Anakaris and Amingo.
Doom, Cable and Juggernaught.
I just call it Doom Cable though, Juggernaught is only there because his dash assist utterly destroys people and vastly improves my Doom keepaway game. I suck with cable but again, his assist is amazing and I can hold my own with him if forced to use him. Essentially is Doom dies though, my gameplay is ruined so it's a risky setup. Wouldn't be so bad if I was better with Cable but that will come with time, havn't played the game much before now.
Strider, Gambit and Ironman. Strider has great gap closing moves to punish big characters and Gambit is pretty beastly all around. Ironman is there for his special. :p
Venom, Wolverine or spiderman, and Juggernut is my "A" team right now. I swap out the middle guy to keep things fresh. Like to keep a fast scrapper in there maybe Ryu . However I always start with Venom and end with Juggernut.
Tron Bonne, Jin, and... I'm not sure. I'm thinking Thanos, but I've heard he's not very good. Although he seems fine from what I've played...
"Tron Bonne, Jin, and... I'm not sure. I'm thinking Thanos, but I've heard he's not very good. Although he seems fine from what I've played..."
Thanos is alright, Tron Bonne and Jin make up for any weaknesses he has though :) They are awesomely good.
I always keep Ryu in my team. He is my constant-I can utilize his moves to good efficiency and he's just a good all-around character.
My second is usually Ruby Heart. I find her to be surprisingly good and I can pull off my longest air combo with her. I like how her croucking +hk has long range-it seems that nobody sees that whip coming and I can always trip them with it to get in closer.. Her supers aren't that great, though, unless the pirate ship connects. Of course, I only just realized how your supposed to use her PPP Super, so......yeah.
My third is just about anybody I feel like playing at that particular moment. Lately, I've been sticking with Hayato, but I also switch in Cable, Dr. Doom, Psylocke, Wolverine, Captain Commando, Captain America, and Strider.
I usually have Jill, Cable, and Ryu/Ken/Akuma on my team. I don't think I have actually won a match yet.
Venom, Iron Man, and Capt Cam Basically I try and get the person in a corner with venom and keep them there
Strider, Morgan and Psylocke.
Strider and Psylocke are my strong players, but i'll substitute out Strider if he's not working cuz I find that sometimes the way that I play with him just isn't effective against some people. I love Psylocke and Morgan though. I'm not the best with Morgan but I like how her moves look and that super laser rifle thing plus she's a good anti-air and her moves are Ryu motions that do similar things so she's familiar.
Psylocke is my fave. You can make her black, which is always a plus to me, and she can teleport, which I use alot of. Plus, her dragon punch is done with a fireball motion so I can always get it to come out 100% of the time I need it to (which does always happen with morgan).
Out of about 100 matches that I have play80% the amount of Sentinel, Cable, Captain Commando, spider man, venom, iron, jin, magneto combos it makes me laugh.
I use Charlie, Guile and I mix it up with either Sakara or Felicia for the fun matches, I throw Iron man with the two guys when people pick the cheese teams ;)
I usually go with Rogue first, then Psylocke then Storm last. I like Rogue for her basic combos and power stealing kiss, tends to make fighting Juggernaut and Sentinel fun when I steal their Power Armour. I just like Psylocke as her combos are fairly simple to pull off but quite effective, but her supers do kinda suck. I like Storm for her assist which makes combos a lot easier to pull off.
X-Women <3
I just pick random characters. I don't care to get good enough with a certain set of characters so I just pick characters that I'm in the mood to play as
As a beginning player, I gravitate mostly toward Cable as my dominant character. Usually one of the Ryu clones is in there. Though I haven't established a concrete "team" as of yet.
It's basically just a trio of characters I find interesting. Juggernaut's dash assist is hilarious, by the way. I highly recommend that.
Please don't hesitate to call me a newbie, because that's exactly what I am.
Ryu, Tron Bonne and B.B. Hood is my team. Ryu is there because I feel most comfortable playing him, Tron is just fun to play with (and lunch rush is awesome when you can land it), and B.B. Hood is fun to play with as well. As for their assist types, Ryu and Tron are projectile and B.B. Hood is anti-air. I'm not sure how else to use B.B. Hood's other assist types so if anyone has any advice, I'd be glad to take it.
Also, their variety combo rapes pretty hard.
at the moment i have been using Cap America, strider (or wolverine), and either Iron man or cable for their supers, mostly though i just piss around and pick randoms
Deadpool, Deadpool, Deadpool and... Deadpool. Because he is the only one you need on any team to win. It's been Scientifically proven as shown by this photo.
Felicia, Ryu, and Rogue
I tend to stay away from the God tier Characters (Magneto, Sentinel, Cable, Iron Man, etc.).
So far only really hardcore players that just juggle me the entire match have beaten my team. Pretty much unstoppable and balanced.
That team is:
1. Akuma (Projectile)- crouch punch or weak kick is faster than everyone except spiderman and allows for a 20+ combo to start.
2. Bone Wolverine (Ground) - perfect switch in character when you need to stall to regain some health. Best used against very fast or big opponents
3. Cyclops (Projectile) - laser beam sucks but his punch to kick combo is very effective. Plays very similar to a shoto SF character. Hyper initiator.
I would recommend this team to most noobs. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind is that you must resist using cyclops' laser eyes/projectile because its weak and traps you in animation for a good deal of time. Wolverine is a noobs best friend, button mash away. Akuma is the only character that you should have a decent idea of how he plays. Super jump is a must leading into a downward kick and sweep or uppercut.
send and invite if you want to play ;)
