    I think Iceman would be good. They don't really have any fighters like him right now. The only issue with that is that he could easily devolve into a Sub-Zero knockoff. It's hard to say how well that one would be received.

    Ice man in MVC2 is nothing like a sub zero knock off. 
     
    And I totally want to see Apocalypse done as a giant screen character with like 5 mill health, but if you choose him, you get no teammates.

    Juggernaut, because he was really fun to play as in the older games. 
     
    Also Colossus was incredibly fun in COTA. Keep his ground throw and he'd be great in MVC3. 
     
    Omega Red would be cool because it would be an excuse to remix his amazing theme:

    with Wolverine, X-23, Magneto, Storm, Phoenix, and Sentinel, we already have 6 X-Men characters in the game. 
    however, if we needed another, I've always been a fan of Gambit. never played MvC2, though (he was in that right?)

    I think there are enough X-men characters in this as is. If I had to choose though, I'd go with Gambit. I liked him in MVC2 and I still like him in the comics.

    True, but the money/effort ratio is more favorable for them to just release costume packs.  It also totally said "complete your roster" and not "expand your roster" when I redeemed my Jill/ Shuma code.
